Depending on the location, clearing out a POI (Point Of Interest) in7 Days To Diecan be incredibly challenging. Most buildings havezombies hiding and waiting to pouncejust as soon as the player thinks that they are safe. While clearing out buildings can be a rather sweat-inducing task, it is also pretty fun.
There are several ways that a player can clear out a POI. Whether they like to go in guns blazing or they prefer to take the more cautious approach, there’s no wrong way to clear a building. That said, there are a few things that players can do to make clearing a building a little bit easier in7 Days to Die.
6Go In Through The Roof
Surprise The Zombies By Dropping In From Above
The way that most POIs are set up encourages players to enter through the front door, a hole in the ground, or through the basement. Zombies aren’t smart. For the most part, zombies located inside POIs will only trigger when attacked or when the player crosses a certain threshold. If the player goes in through the roof, then they can clear a building in reverse. This can be done by either creating a ‘nerd pole’ along the side of the building or bylanding the Gyrocopteron the roof. Most of the zombies won’t actually notice the player if the player comes up from behind them.
Also, especially in big buildings, most of the core loot is located on the roof. So, if the player goes to the roof first, then they can loot all the goodies first. Not only that, but most rooftops have zombies stationed over windows, waiting for the player to enter the building so that they can jump down and attack. If the player heads to the roof first, then they can kill all the enemies that would otherwise get the jump on the player if they had entered through the main door.
5Board Up The Entrance
Place Some Hatches Or Doors
To make things a bit easier, it’s worth blocking off the entrance with some sort of door. This prevents any wandering zombies from making their way insideand creeping up behind the player. Since wandering hordes are pretty common, there’s a fairly high chance that a few stragglers may try to make their way inside the POI that the player is clearing.
While it is important to seal off the entrance, it is also important to be able to escape if things get too dangerous. This is why it is better tocraft doors and hatchesthan regular blocks. In the case of an emergency, the player may need to make a swift exit, so be sure to have a way to get out fast.
4Carry A Few Building Blocks
Great For Hard-To-Reach Areas
This game makes use of all sorts of items to create parkour challenges that players will need to navigate. This is especially true in the Wasteland Biome. Most buildings can only be navigated by walking along unstable wooden beams that could give way at any moment.
Toavoid accidentally falling into a room full of the undead, players should carry a few building blocks. These cheap blocks are easy to craft and can be picked up after being put down.Players can use these blocks to create makeshift stairsthat will enable them to get through any tricky parkour areas without any issues.
3Run Through And Out
Draw Enemies Outside In A Risky Maneuver
Players who are quick on their feet may decide to try to create a ‘zombie train.’ This is where the player runs around inside the building, activating as many zombie trigger points as possible, before luring them outside where they can be taken down one by one. This prevents the player from getting pinned down in a corner of a building.
Ifthe player is able to lure the zombies outside, then they can circle the building in a loop while killing the zombies one at a time. This is great forthose who prefer to use melee attacksover firearms. It’s also a great way for those with limited amounts of ammo to take down zombies more efficiently. If the zombies are all walking in a straight line, then it’s easier to get a headshot than if they are all spread out.
2Place A Couple Of Turrets
A Little Extra Help Goes A Long Way
While they aren’t the most accurate things in the game, turrets are great at picking off a few zombies, making it easier for players to cope. If the player throws down a couple of turrets outside a POI, thenthey will be able to prevent any wandering zombies from going inside the buildingwhile also providing some cover fire.
This works very well if used with the previously mentioned method. By running through the building and activating as many zombie trigger points as possible, the turret will be able to take down a handful of the zombies, making the player’s job much easier.
1Clear The Same Place Twice
Earn Double The Loot For The Same POI
While it’s not technically a method for clearing a POI, it is possible for players to loot the same location twice. When accepting a mission to clear or fetch an item from a certain location, the player will need to head to the area and activate the mission at the rally point to trigger it. Instead of triggering the mission right away, if the player heads straight inside the building/area, they will be able to clear and loot its contents. Then, head back outside and trigger the mission. This will cause all the building’s contents and enemies to respawn, allowing the player toloot the same place twice.
Since this will net the player lots of loot, it’s wise to store all the loot found on their first trip through the POI in a chest or vehicle outside the building prior to starting the mission. Just be sure to not put a chest too close to the building, as it will get deleted when the mission is triggered.
