Demon Slayeris a ridiculously popular shonen series that fans love. Ufotable’s stellar animation has ensured that what could’ve been a simple tale about talented swordsmen fighting powerful demons becomes a visual treat for the ages that is simply out of this world.
The show is full to the brim with amazing fights, where the Hashira and other demon slayers must push themselves to the very limit to end the threat of Muzan and his demons. This makes for some fantastic battles with astounding animation and massive implications for future events inDemon Slayer.
8Demon Slayers & Nezuko Kamado VS Daki & Gyutaro
The Heroes Finally Take Out Members Of The Upper Rank Demon Moons
Beforethe Entertainment District arc, no demon slayer in history (aside from Yoriichi Tsugikuni) had even come out victorious against a member of the Upper Rank Demon Moons. This means that Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Tengen were fighting against the odds from the get-go after uncovering Daki’s presence.
The addition of Gyutaro in the battle made everyone think that there was no chance of the demon slayers succeeding against her. However, fortunate activations of the Demon Slayer Mark ensured that both Daki and Gyutaro were beheaded, landing a major dent in Muzan’s plans.
7Muichiro Tokito VS Gyokko
The Mist Hashira Awakens The Demon Slayer Mark And Bodies The Upper Rank 5 Demon Moon
Gyokko was a major threat to deal with for Muichiro, especially all by himself. The Upper Rank 5 Demon Moon was able to overpower the Mist Hashira, forcing him to die a slow death by drowning.
However, an emotional flashback saved Muichiro in the nick of time as he awakened his Demon Slayer Mark for an extended period andmanaged to overpower Gyokkowith a flurry of powerful attacks. He eventually managed to behead the demon, making it clear that this new power-up would be critical to defeating the Upper Rank Demon Moons.
6Demon Slayers & Nezuko Kamado VS Hantengu
Not Only Is This Upper Rank Demon Moon Defeated, But Nezuko’s Immunity To The Sun Is Also Uncovered
Hantengu’s multiple personalities manifesting themselves made for a crazy battle where Tanjiro and his allies had to bring their A-game to defeat this foe. After an elaborate game of cat & mouse, Tanjiro managed to chase down the main body with Nezuko’s help, but the sun was coming up at that exact moment.
He managed to behead Hantengu and assumed that his sister would burn in the sunlight, thanking her for her sacrifice. Instead, it’s revealed that Nezuko can stay out in the sun even as a demon, shocking everyone. This included Muzan, who was willing to move heaven and earth to get the same immunity that Nezuko has, finally making up for his biggest weakness.
5Tanjiro Kamado VS Rui
The Lower Rank 6 Demon Moon Pushes Tanjiro To New Heights As He Uses Sun Breathing For The First Time
A fight against the Lower Rank 6 Demon Moon was no joke, which is why Tanjiro was on death’s door multiple times during his battle. He wasn’t a natural Water Breathing user, and even the most advanced technique wasn’t enough to save him from Rui’s blood-powered threads.
However, in the nick of time, a flashback showing his father’s unique dance triggered something in Tanjiro, who managed to use Sun Breathing for the first time and cut through Rui’s threads with his broken sword. He would’ve still suffered a fatal blow in the final moment, but Nezuko awakened her Blood Demon Art in the nick of time and burned Rui’s threads, allowing Tanjiro to land one of the best final blows inDemon Slayerhistory.
4Kyojuro Rengoku VS Akaza
Despite His Best Efforts, The Exhausted Rengoku Is Unable To Overpower This Fearsome Foe
After an exhausting fight against Enmu, the demon slayers assumed that the fight was over. However, their celebrations came to a crashing halt when Akaza made a surprise appearance, forcing a fatigued Rengoku to fight and protect the younger demon slayers from this Upper Rank Demon Moon.
What followed is a battle for the ages, withRengoku pulling out all the stopsin a bid to stop Akaza. However, he was unable to overcome the demon’s immense strength and was impaled with a fatal punch. Even then, Rengoku held on until the sun came up, and Akaza didn’t have the opportunity to attack the others, establishing himself as one of the most selfless and belovedDemon Slayercharacters in a single arc.
3Zenitsu Agatsuma VS Kaigaku
Zenitsu Takes Revenge For His Sensei’s Demise
After learning of his sensei’s suicide, Zenitsu was beside himself. Jigoro was the only person in his life who always believed in him and willed him on to reach greater heights.
This is why the Thunder Breathing user couldn’t wait tofight against Kaigaku, who had accepted Kokushibo’s offer to become a demon, shaming his sensei in the process. The battle is a tough one for Zenitsu, but he manages to make the master over Thunder Breathing’s first form count as he unleashes a super-charged version of this technique to behead Kaigaku.
2Tanjiro Kamado & Giyu Tomioka VS Akaza
Rengoku Is Finally Avenged In A Hellacious Battle
Giyu and Tanjiro team up to fight Akaza,meeting him in the Infinity Castleand giving Tanjiro a chance to avenge Rengoku’s death. Both demon slayers are up against the ropes with this enemy, but the Demon Slayer Mark gives them a fighting chance.
Eventually, Tanjiro is able to behead this foe and honor Rengoku’s memory. The most fascinating thing about this fight is how it made viewers sympathize for Akaza of all people, marking an emotional end to this stunning battle that will be great to witness when Ufotable adapts it.
1Demon Slayers & Nezuko Kamado VS Muzan Kibutsuji
The Demon King Is Finally Done Away With, Marking The End Of A Struggle That Has Been Going On For Ages
Muzan is one of the most heinous characters in the series, and seeing the demon slayers band together against him is a chilling moment. While he manages to fend them off, Tanjiro’s mastery over Sun Breathing becomes too hot to handle.
All his hearts are taken out byTanjiro’s ultimate Sun Breathing move, but Muzan tries to get the last laugh by turning the protagonist into a demon. This leads to an impromptu conflict that is eventually resolved as the cure is used on Tanjiro to bring him back to life.
