The long production allowed ufotable to create a film that would leave a long-lasting impression on the audience. The studio ensured that the animation quality was insanely good and the pacing wasn’t too slow or quick.
Considering the production time of the first film, it is plausible to assume that the next installment will take just as long. So, Demon Slayer fans might have to wait until 2027 or 2028 to watch the next film. It is worth mentioning that some reportssuggest that Demon Slayer wants to end theanime in 2029, meaning the final film might release in the same year. A 2029 release date will be difficult to meet, but it depends on whether ufotable has started working on the second film or not. If the studio has already begun, it will lead to the second film being released in 2027.

The Demon Slayer manga ended in 2020, yet it’s still extremely popular. In fact, the Demon Slayer mangahas now sold more than 220 million copies, which makes it one of the best-selling manga of all time. The latest achievement of the manga means that it has now outsold Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, and many other titles.
