On a budget of just $17 million, it made $341 million worldwide, making it a certified hit and spawning what may be the best new alien franchise since, well, Alien. John Krasinski, still best known at the time for playing Jim onThe Office, proved his horror-directing bona fides, and is set to do even more on the next movie.

Deadlinereports that John Krasinski will once again return to the director’s chair forA Quiet Place Part III. That should surprise no one after the success of the previous two mainline entries in the franchise.Like he did onA Quiet Place Part II, Krasinski will also write the script and co-produce with Platinum Dunes through his and Allyson Seeger’s Sunday Night Productions. The movie is already on the summer 2027 schedule with an expected release date of July 9th, planting it firmly in summer blockbuster territory.
There’s no telling where the story might go from where things left off in the previous movie.A Quiet Place Part IIappeared to end with a solution to defeating the alien monsters, which one might imagineleading to aMars Attacks!-style montageof aliens being killed while their super-hearing is overloaded by feedback.
