Aside from all the festivities, the 20th Anniversary event inWorld of Warcraftbrings a whole slew of secrets for players to uncover. Between thesecrets of Zul’Gurub, Naxxramas, andthe Secrets of Azeroth, having hidden things to discover has become increasingly popular among the playerbase.
In addition to the Guest Relations storyline, there is also a series of Celebration Crates scattered across Azeroth. to start searching for the crates, you will need to speak with Alyx outside of the Caverns of Time and ask her for harder challenges. Players only get the vaguest of hints about where to start their search, and if you are struggling to find these crates, here is where you should go.
Updated on Jun 08, 2025 by Paul Woodward:As the 20th Anniversary event inWorld of Warcrafthas progressed, more of the Celebration Crates have gradually become available for players to find. Now, as players work to solve the Felcycle puzzle, all the Celebration Crates are available. If players want to get all the achievements that are part of this event, they will want to track down all the crates. It is also a good source of some extra Bronze Celebration Tokens, since you get some whenever you turn in the crates.
Celebration Crate in Tanaris
There is actually a Celebration Crate not far from the Caverns of Time, where all the festivities are taking place. Go toward the shorelinewhere Doomwalker is patrolling. Drink a water breathing potion and then head southeast down toward a set of buildings. A Level 83 shark will be roaming around in the water, so keep an eye out to ensure you don’t aggro it.
Enter the larger building on the right and swim up to the second floor. There will be a Celebration Crate behind one of the beds.
Celebration Crate in Thousand Needles
This Celebration Crate is somewhat tricky as you need to go to two separate zones to obtain it. Go to Fizzle and Pozzik’s Speedbarge and then fly or swim southwest to reach the Sunken Digsite. Swim down toward the Silithid hive. The hive is pretty large, so you will want to make sure you have a water breathing potion on hand so that you don’t drown.
Once inside the hive, take a right and then go straight toward the dead end with the pipe. Next to the pipe, you will see a note that you can interact with. Take the note and then head to Azsuna, a zone in the Broken Isles. There will be a vendor named Vashti who roams the long stretch of road on the eastern edge of Azsuna that goes from the Ruined Sanctum to the bridge that leads into Suramar. In order to get the Celebration Crate, you must buy it from this vendor for 500 gold.
Celebration Crate in the Forgotten Crypt
If you are unfamiliar with this location, the Forgotten Crypt is the crypt behind Karazhan in Deadwind Pass. To find the Celebration Crate, go down the stairs and into the Forgotten Crypt.
Go past the well and down Pauper’s Walk. Eventually, Pauper’s Walk will split off into two directions. Go right and head down until you reach another spot where the path splits again. Go left and head down until you reach a large chamber with a bunch of dirt mounts and bones. On the far right side of this room, you will come across a part of the crypt that is submerged underwater. Swim across to the other side (you don’t have to go underwater) and enter the chamber. Off in the far left corner of this room, you will see a crate that you may interact with to receive a quest. Talk to Alyx to complete this quest.
Celebration Crate in Zuldazar
In Zuldazar, you will find a Dive Bar at the bottom of the river at the coordinates 54.3, 54.5. Speak with Nikto and purchase the Clam Digger. Swim up to find a conch with a name, Gerald. Talk to it and offer it the Clam Digger. The conch will open and you will find the Celebration Crate inside. Take it back to Alyx to get fiveBronze Celebration Tokens.
Celebration Crate in Desolace
you may only find the Celebration Crate in Desolace if you are dead. While in this zone, either fall off a mount from a distance where you will die instantly, get killed by a mob, or drown. Once you are a ghost, head to the Kodo Graveyard just outside Cenarion Wildlands. The crate will be located at 54.2, 58.1.
Celebration Crate in Howling Fjord
The Celebration Crate in Howling Fjord requires you to use the Tricked-Out Thinking Cap to find the Celebration Crate. However, if you just want to find the Crate and skip all the steps in between, head to the entrance to a cave that is northwest of Gjalerbron on the map.
You know you will be in the right place when you see a large wolf inside the cave. Instead of going into the cave, go to the right to spot the Celebration Crate hiding behind a rock.
Celebration Crate in Mount Hyjal
The seventh Celebration Crate is located in Mount Hyjal. West of the Grove of Aessina, you will find a patch of forest that isn’t on fire. In this area, there is a trampoline that is part of a daily quest and the Celebration Crate is right next to it.
Celebration Crate in Feralas
To find this Celebration Crate, you must first go to Ashenvale. Roughly in the middle of the zone, there is a large volcano with a fire elemental known as Lord Magamathar at the top. He is a quest objective for lower level players in Ashenvale, so ignore him. Behind him, you will see a blue potion. Interacting with this potion gives you a 30-minute buff.
With this buff, you will be able to see the Celebration Crate in Feralas. Do not use a flight point and do not leave Kalimdor, as doing either of these actions will cause you to lose the buff. While there is a part of this puzzle that involves finding clues across Feralas, if you want to just find the crate, head to Dire Maul. The Celebration Crate can be found at X,Y (60,35). If you don’t have an addon for coordinates, the crate is against the wall in the long open corridors of Dire Maul before you reach the middle courtyard.
Celebration Crate in Nagrand (Outland)
Take a portal to Shattrath and head west toward Nagrand (theTBCversion, notWarlords of Draenor). Fly to the southwest corner of the zone where you will see a large white stone formation in the middle of a bunch of runes. This structure is known as Oshu’gun. The entrance is on the north side of Oshu’gun.
Go down until you reach the central chamber with the floating Orc Ancestors. The crate is on the right, near the doorway on the other side of this room.
Celebration Crate in Stormheim
To get this crate, head to Ahn’Qiraj: The Fallen Kingdom, a small zone that is south of the Scarab Wall in Silithus. On the southwest coast, you will find a cave entrance with a couple of trees around it. Summon a battle pet that is a dog (like Perky Pug) and go into the cave.
In the depths of this cave, you will find a large red dragon named Andrestrasz. Go behind this dragon and approach the bones. Your pet will approach the ground in the middle of the bones and a heart will appear above its head. At that point, a skeleton will appear. Loot the skeleton to get Mysterious Bones.
Once you’ve done that, go to Stormheim in the Broken Isles. Head to the location in the image above to find an unmarked grave. Use the Mysterious Bones and you will obtain the celebration crate.
Celebration Crate in Maldraxxus
The final Celebration Crate is in Maldraxxus, a zone in the Shadowlands. From Oribos, take a flightpath to anywhere in Maldraxxus. When you arrive, make your way to the Seat of the Primus.
Fly to the upper level, which is essentially the lap of the giant statue. To the right of the portal, you will see the Celebration Crate. If you’ve found all the Celebration Crates and turned them in to Alyx, you will unlock both the Crate Insurance Agent and No Crate Left Behind achievements. Depending on your progress with theGuest Relations questline, you will also obtain the Detective title as well.
