The Sims 4 Ghost Mastery Skill Tree, Explained
Much like other advancedoccult species inThe Sims 4, such as vampires and werewolves, Ghost Sims can unlock new abilities and perks throughGhost Mastery. Players can access the Ghost Mastery skill tree from the Simology Panel. It has six branches, each representing a different style of ethereal power.
On the left side of the tree, Ghost Sims can pursue malevolent powers, from terrifying the living to inflicting curses. Whereas the right side of the tree leans toward benevolent abilities that allow Ghost Sims to provide positive auras or even repair and upgrade skills.A middle, neutral branch also exists, offering abilities such as teleportation andslowing or stopping need decayentirely.
Using the ghostly abilities from this skill tree grants Ghost Sims experience and helps them advance through the five tiers of Ghost Mastery. Ghosts will begin as a mere Wispling and work towards becoming a Transcendent Wraith. Passing through these levels earns Simsexperience points, which can be used to purchase additional abilities and perks.
Ghost powers can co-exist with powers from other occults. Sims who were werewolves, vampires, and spellcasters during their lifetime can retain their occult powers and experience while also working on leveling up their ghost mastery.
How to Use Ghost Abilities in The Sims 4
All ghostly abilities inThe Sims 4are powered bystamina. The stamina bar, which can be viewed in the Simology Panel, displays the status of a ghost’s stamina. If the stamina bar is low, aGhost Sim will appear faint and translucent, requiring some time to recharge before they can use their powers again. When fully replenished, the Ghost Sim will return to their vibrant, spectral appearance, ready to use their abilities to haunt or help as they please.
Ghost Sims will find the purchased abilities under the social pie menu; to access it, players can click on another Sim.Here, they will find the Ghost Mastery menu and they can pick between Helpful, Comfort, Chaos, and Scare Abilities. Players can also find the Ghost Mastery menu on objects for interactions like Sinister Haunt and Instantly Upgrade.
Some interactions, such as Solace Embrace, require the ghost Sim to have a high relationship with the targeted Sim.
Ghost Abilities in The Sims 4
The Ghost Mastery skill tree has five ascending tier: Wispling, Ethereal Novice, Phantasmal Ascendant, Spectral Luminary, and Transcendent Wraith. As they level up, Ghost Sims gain experience points and unlock opportunities for new abilities and perks. These abilities must be purchased from the bottom up, much likethe celebrity perks system.

Influence nearby Sims' emotions by emitting a negative aura.
Fear The Night
Cause living Sims to be more vulnerable and fearful at night, and receive aFear Essencebonus.
Radiate positivity and influence Sims' positive feelings.
Novice/Adept/Expert Maintenance
Clean, repair, and upgrade objects. Requires three experience points for Expert Maintenance.

Haunting Shriek
Perform aHaunting Shriekthat scares nearby Sims (and may cause them to faint).
Disturb Sims' sleep with nightmares.
Suppress/Transcend Living Needs
Slows/Stops need decay in terms of hunger, bladder, and hygiene. Requires two experience points to Transcend Living Needs.
Give Sims good dreams and restore their energy faster.
Levitator
Levitate Sims in the air and take the possessions or Simoleons that fall from them.
Drain the needs and shorten the lifespan of a Sim.
Use ghostly abilities with ease and less stamina.
Improve the quality of crafted items, plants, and food.
Improve the needs and extend the lifespan of a Sim.
Otherworldly Curse
Receive theMark of Eviltattoo, which gives ghosts the power to bestow curses on Sims.
Benevolent Blessing
Receive theMark of Goodtattoo, which gives ghosts the power to give living Sims fortune.
