Practically all characters inZenless Zone Zerodeal Physical damage with their hits, but only those who bear the Physical attribute can buildup Physical Anomaly. For example, Grace’s combo mixes her Physical and Electric hits, but she can only accumulate Electric to trigger Shock, and her Physical damage are simply a bunch of underwhelming hits.
Apart from Anomaly, though, there’s not much difference in combat when it comes to which Attribute a character has. Outside combat, however,Attribute plays a large role in dictating which Agent can work with which Agent. For example, units like Billy, Corin, and Nekomata can have their Additional Ability triggered if the squad includes someone from the same faction or has the same Attribute. Among the available Agents, here’s a ranking of thebest Physical characters inZenless Zone Zero.
6Billy
Two Guns, So Double The Accuracy
Billy is one of the three starter characters from the Cunning Hares. He does his job as a DPS, but if compared to Anby and Nicole, he’s arguably the worst among them. This is mostly due to the fact that there are a lot of other brilliant damage dealers, but not that many Stun and Support characters. For example, on release, there’s only one 5-star Support available, making Nicole highly valuable for those who don’t own Rina.
Similarly, other Stun characters like Lycaon, Koleda, and Qingyi are all 5-star, making Anby the go-to for players who don’t have other Stun Agent. Meanwhile, Billy is outdone by both his 4-star colleagues and 5-star superiors. Therefore, he has to settle at the bottom of thisZZZTier list.
5Corin
Chainsaw Maid
Corin is the shy and unsure maidfrom the Victoria Housekeeping faction. She’s an Attack character who deals damage using her chainsaw, continuously hitting enemies at a melee range. She works best with a Stun Agent who can activate her Additional Ability, like Lycaon.
Players can extend most of Corin’s moves so that her chainsaw spins non-stop before it releases an explosion. Remember to move and aim to keep the fluidity of her movement.
4Piper
Brake Disc Assault
Piper is a Physical-Anomaly Agent, similar to Jane Doe. But of course, since she’s an A-Rank character, she’s not as good as Jane. Piper uses her weapon and spins it against the opponent to quickly build up Physical Anomaly. She can easily trigger Assault with each spin as long as she has enough EX Special Attack energy.
Another good thing about her is that she works great with many characters. The Sons of Calydon has manyAgents to pair with Piper, and as long as Lucy is present, players can include other Fire characters. Viable pairing includes something like Caesar + Lucy, Caesar + Burnice, or Lucy + Koleda.
3Nekomata
Cat Scratch
Nekomiya Mana, also known as Nekomata, is the newestmember of the Cunning Hares inZZZ. She’s a 5-star Attack Agent, making her the “better” Billy. At first, she lacks teammates, but after version 1.2, players can use Caesar or even Jane Doe to accompany her. Proxies can mix something like Caesar + Lucy, Piper + Lucy, Jane Doe + Seth, and so on.
As an Attack character, Nekomata deals damage with ATK and Critical stat. However, the damage of her EX Special Attack is enhanced when someone triggers Assault, making Physical-Anomaly Agents like Jane Doe and Piper viable teammates in her squad.
2Caesar
Ready To Shield
Caesar may not be the star of her team in terms of damage, but she’s a powerhouse as a support. Caesar’s kit allows her to shield, grant ATK bonus, crowd control the enemy, and also quickly buildup Daze as her shield scales withImpact stat inZenless Zone Zero. This makes Caesar one of the best supports to have in the game.
As if that’s not enough, Caesar’s Additional Ability activates as long as the team has Agents that perform Defensive Assist. Almost everyone has Defensive Assist, with exceptions such as Zhu Yuan, Rina, Billy, and Grace, who perform Evasive Assist instead.
1Jane Doe
Sting Like A Rat
As of version 1.3, Jane Doe is the best Physical character inZenless Zone Zero.As an Anomaly specialist, her damage comes from triggering an Assault, which she can do swiftly, especially in her Passion State. Not only is she much faster at building up Physical Anomaly thanks to her Additional Ability, her Core Passive enables her Assault to Crit, dealing significantly higher damage compared to the Assault triggered by Piper Wheel.
Not only is Jane an excellent DPS, Proxies can play her as either a sole DPS or mix Jane Doe with another Anomaly Agent to make a Disorder squad. Viable teammates include units like Caesar + Seth, Caesar + Burnice, or Seth + Grace.
