Mega Evolution is set to be the star feature ofPokemon Legends: Z-A, with much of the hype leading up to the game’s release revolving around leaked and rumored new Megas. After the recent Pokemon Presents confirmed the existence of the leaked Mega Dragonite, the other25 leaked Mega Evolutions forPokemon Legends: Z-Agained a lot more credibility. Which trainers will use Mega Evolution is still unconfirmed, but the leaked information forPokemon Legends: Z-Astarts to paint a picture of the Megas players should expect to face.

If all 26 leaked Megas forPokemon Legends: Z-Aend up being confirmed, along with the existing 49, there will be a total of 75 Mega Evolutions in the franchise. However, there are a few Megas rumored to be missing fromPokemon Legends: Z-A, including Mega Rayquaza, Mega Latios, and Mega Latias. Even with those missing Megas,Legends: Z-Ais still primed to have a hefty number for players to collect, but it seems like only a handful of these Mega Evolutions will be battled by players if leaks hold true.

The source of these leaks is crediblePokemonleakerBallGuy on X, but should still be taken with a grain of salt until confirmed.

Confirmed Pokemon Legends: Z-A Trainers and Their Leaked Mega Evolutions

Some of these trainer-Mega pairings could have been assumed given the nature of the character, like the player’s rival Urbain or Taunie using the Mega of a starter based on the player’s choice. Lida and Naveen were shown in the most recentPokemon Legends: Z-Atrailer to use Staryu and Scraggy, respectively, so it’s logical to expect that they would useMega Starmie and Mega Scraftysince those are the final evolutions of their partner mons. Although Corbeau is shown using Arbok in his introduction, leaks point toward the Rust Syndicate leader using Mega Scolipede as his ace.

Unconfirmed Pokemon Legends: Z-A Trainers Leaked to Us Mega Evolution

Perhaps more interesting than theconfirmedPokemon Legends: Z-Acharacters' leaked Megas are the ones for currently unconfirmed trainers. Although he is unnamed, the Pokemon Presents trailer showed the character leaked to be called Philippe as an associate of the Rust Syndicate, who specializes in Steel types and uses Mega Skarmory as his ace. Jacinthe is an enigmatic character that leaks describe as the leader of a Battle Chateau-inspired tournament, who uses a Mega Dragonite and has an assistant who also uses a Dragon-type Mega as her ace in Mega Drampa.

The leaked trainer, Canari, is allegedly another promotion match trainer in the Z-A Royale who is verysimilar toScarlet and Violet’s Iono, utilizing the Electric-type Mega Eelektross. Canari also apparently has a father or grandfather in the game that uses Mega Excadrill as his ace. There are also a couple of unnamed characters that are rumored to use Mega Chandelure and Mega Falinks, but the leaks these characters stem from offer little information outside their Megas.

Pokemon X and Y’s villainous Team Flare LeaderLysandre is rumored to return inLegends: Z-Aas well, and will be bringing back his Mega Gyarados from his Gen 6 team. However, with Mega Pyroar also leaked to be inLegends: Z-A, it seems like a missed opportunity for Lysandre to shake up his team with a new Mega since he also used a Pyroar on his originalX and Yteam.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A Still Has a Lot of Room for Other Megas to Appear

Even with these trainers leaked to be using a good majority of the new Mega Evolutions inPokemon Legends: Z-A, there are still several new ones that seem to be missing from majorLegends: Z-Abattles:

It’s certainly possible that these Megas will become opponents alongside a trainer inLegends: Z-A, but players may also be left to discover them for themselves. Mons like Mega Zygarde and Mega Eternal Flower Floette seem like they are bound to appear as part of important story beats, either asRogue Mega Evolutionsor with someone like AZ potentially using them, but this is still just speculation until officially confirmed.
