Summary

Days before the November 7 launch of theAMDRyzen 9000X3D processor lineup, the specifications for the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D were leaked and shared on social media. The specs for theAMDRyzen 7 9800X3D indicated that the upcoming processor will fare better than the Ryzen 7 9700X in some aspects, but come with a higher power draw.

The leak came just two days after the tech giant pulled back the curtain on its upcoming plans for its gaming processor lineup. In a social media post, AMD stated thatthe Ryzen 9000X3D series of CPUs would be releasedworldwide on Thursday, November 7. At the time of writing, pricing information remained unavailable. One of the key features of the Ryzen X3D processor lineup compared to other Ryzen units is the inclusion of AMD’s patented 3D V-Cache technology to vastly improve gaming performance. However, the tradeoffs of using a Ryzen X3D CPU include lower clock speeds and the inability to overclock the system, in addition to the higher initial costs.

Along with confirming previousleaks of the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D packaging, the latest piece of information may be pertinent for PC builders. According to information obtained byTwitter user AhnPhuH(andcorroborated by VideoCardz), the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D will utilize AMD’s second generation of 3D V-Cache technology to boost gaming performance. It is not clear how the latest iteration of 3D V-Cache will compare to what is available on the Ryzen 5000X3D and 7000X3D processors. It also remains unclear how many processors will be released alongside the Ryzen 7 9800X3D on November 7. However, the specs of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D may make it an enticing buy for PC builders, as it will be an 8-core CPU with a higher base clock speed of 4.7 GHZ that can be boosted to 5.2 GHz.
