InAstro Bot, players have to rescue 300 Astro Bots hidden over various themed levels, and it seems that new updates have been adding even more content to the popular platformer.
Now, Sony has released Helium Heights, a newAstro Botspeedrun level. The level can already be accessed by updating the game and visiting the Stellar Speedway after finishing the main story. Sony also unveiled a short video showing some of its elements. The level seems to be focused on verticality and an environment that allows the player to float around while exploring an area comprised of several floating islands and clouds.
New Astro Bot Update Introduces Helium Heights
Helium Heights is the fourth offiveAstro Botspeedrun levelsrevealed back in September. These levels have been released weekly, with Building Speed, Let It Slide, and Spring-loaded Run having already been added, and Rising Heat’s launch planned for next week. Each level contains two new VIP bots, increasing by 10 the total of bots that can be rescued in the game. Unlike some of the base levels inAstro Bot, all of the new ones are focused on speedrunning and will test the player’s skill, allowing them to compete against others in an online leaderboard.
Each of the newAstro Botlevels will focus on different mechanics. For example, Helium Heights has a clear focus on a balloon device that allows the protagonist to float in the air for a few moments.Astro Bot’s Spring-Loaded Run level, for example, focuses on using the Frog Gloves to punch through obstacles across sticky platforms.
Due to its high quality, the rave reviews it received, and its frequent support with more content,Astro Botis selling very well. While Sony did not divulge official information about how many unitsAstro Bothas sold so far, the game was reported to have sold 34% more units in its debut month thanSonic Frontiers, and 52% more thanCrash Bandicoot 4. Considering how these are from established 3D platforming franchises, this indicates a high degree of success.
