Summary

Being a killer inDead By Daylightcan be pretty challenging. Tracking down each of the survivors, hooking them multiple times, and doing it all before they complete enough generators to open up the doors can seem like a tall order. There are lots of factors that play a role in determining the chances of a killer winning a particular game.Killer perks, killer choice, and survivor ability all contribute towards the outcome of a game.

The map that the killer plays on can mean the difference between a win and a loss. While certain killers are best suited to specific maps, there are a few good rules to go by when it comes to finding a good map for killers; map size, hook distance, and places to hide should be taken into account when selecting a map to play on.

8Coal Tower

One Of The Most Balanced Maps In The Game

This map is great for both killers and survivors. In fact, it is regularly used duringDead By Daylightcompetitions. It offers great visibility for killers, allowing them to see across the majority of the map with relatively few obstructions. While the large central building can be used toloop the killer, the rest of the map is relatively open, allowing killers to narrow the distance between them and their soon-to-be victim.

Coal Tower is also a pretty small map. The smaller the map, the better. With less space, there are usually fewer places for survivors to hide. Killers also have a much higher chance of randomly stumbling across a survivor on a small map like Coal Tower.

Treatment Theatre In DBD

7Treatment Theatre

A Small Map With Plenty Of Places To Set Traps

Treatment Theatre is perfect for killers like the Trapper. It’s a very small map with almost zero outside areas for survivors to hide in. While it can be a bit of a maze to navigate, a few well-placed traps dotted throughout the building should be enough to catch even the most experienced survivors.

Because the map is so small, survivors will be able to hear the killer’s heartbeat (stealth-dependent) almost constantly, meaning that they don’t have a good way of gauging how far they are away from the killer. Killers can use this to their advantage and sneak up on unsuspecting survivors and snatch them off the generators they are working on.

Wrecker’s Yard In DBD

6Wrecker’s Yard

Great For Chasing Down Survivors

While Wrecker’s Yard is larger than some of the other entries on this list, it is still relatively small. Also, aside from the main building, there aren’t a lot of interior buildings thatsurvivors can use to loop killers.A lot of the gameplay on this map will take place out in the open, making it a great place to track down prey.

Visibility is pretty good on this map, and since most of the generators are located outside, it’s possible for the killer to see most of the generator lights, giving them an edge over the survivors.

Dead Dawg Saloon, the wild western themed map.

An Easy Map To Force Players To Three Gen Themselves

For those who don’t know, if the survivors complete their generators in a bad order, they could end up with the final three generators being close together. Ifthe final generatorsare close together, then the killer can patrol them all at the same time, greatly reducing the survivor’s chances of escape.

Dead Dawg Saloon is a map that survivors are pretty likely to three-gen themselves on.Not only that, but this map is also relatively small, making it ideal for fast-moving killers to chase down survivors.

Elementary School In DBD

4Midwich Elementary School

A Perfect Map For Mind Games

Mind games play a vital role for killers inDead By Daylight.Killers should do their utmost to confuse survivors and work unpredictably to consistently throw survivors off their game.Midwich Elementary School is great for playing mind games.

Since the map is rather small and spans across two floors, survivors will have a hard time figuring out whether you are close to them or not, forcing them to make mistakes such as blowing generators. While the map can be tricky to navigate, it won’t take more than a few games for new killers to make their way around the area with relative ease.

Suffocation Pit In DBD

3Suffocation Pit

Avoid The Center Building And Stalk Survivors

The huge central structure is a pretty difficult place to chase down survivors. However, aside from that structure, the map is great for fast-moving killersasthere are lots of straight paths for the killer to run down. Also, there’s quite a lot of foliage lying around, making it a great map for setting traps and capturing survivors as they attempt to run along the outside of the map.

If the survivors try to lure the killer into the main building, then it’s often best to leave the chase and keep the focus on the exterior generators.

Lampkin Lane

2Lampkin Lane

A Formerly Survivor Sided Map

When it was first released, Lampkin Lane (Haddonfield) wasmuch better for survivors than it was for killers. But now things have changed. There have been a few updates that have greatly diminished the survivor’s edge and made it a much more ‘killer-friendly’ map.

There are lots of deadzones in Haddonfield. Not only that, but the center of the map offers almost zero places for survivors to hide. Since survivors will need to make their way across the center of the map a handful of times during a game, the killer has a very high chance of spotting them from a mile away.

Sanctum Of Wrath

1Sanctum Of Wrath

An Easy Map For Predicting Survivor Movements

Sanctum Of Wrath is a great map for killers. The huge shrine in the center of the map gives the killer some great advantages. First,it allows the killer to see large areas of the map, which is great for spotting survivors. The second benefit is that it allows the killer to split the map into two sections, making it easier for them to focus on the most gen-heavy side.

Once a survivor has been spotted, there aren’t a lot of places where they can hide, making chasing them down pretty easy.
