5Party Members
Build Up Your Roster For Missions
Players will beginSteamWorld Heist 2with two party members: Daisy and Wesley. Daisy is a Sniper who has the best accuracy in the game and Wesley is a Reaper who excels in dealing damage with a sub-machine gun. Soon after players can start recruiting other party members with Water at bars across the world. The first two choices are Sola and Judy.
Sola is an Engineer who has one of the mostvaluable skills inSteamWorld Heist 2, Maintenance Protocol. It can heal the party within a set region on the map. Judy is a Boomer who wields a giant bazooka and can blast enemies to smithereens. All four heroes will be valuable in taking down enemy fortresses early on.
4Buy A Hammer And Pistol
Unlock Two Classes Early
There are six classes altogether, four of which have been revealed. The other two classes are the Brawler and the Flanker. Any character can take on a new role so long as they have the correct weapon. For example, if Daisy equips a hammer she can become a Brawler and if she grabs a shotgun, she will become a Flanker.
These two classes can be unlocked earlier, before players can recruit characters like Cornelius or Poe, so long as they buy a shotgun or hammer. Most shops should have these weapons but they are expensive. The Water price is worth it though as Brawlers have the great Guts skill which can withstand a killing blow and Nimble Feet will extend the movement radius of a Flanker.In tactical RPGs, movement speed can sometimes make or break a match.
3Get Fragment Crates Whenever Possible
Easier To Upgrade The Sub
Fragments are as valuable as Water inSteamWorld Heist 2. They can be used on the sub to upgrade the player’s arsenal in several ways. They can unlock two terminals, one is used to upgrade characters and the other is used for unlocking abilities for classes. Fragments can also unlock permanent stat boosts for all heroes.
For example, Dumbbells inSteamWorld Heist 2will increase the HP of all heroes by one. The Bunk Bed will increase how many characters players can recruit at pubs. Perhaps most importantly, the sub itself can be upgraded by giving it more slots to equip accessories or weapons into. This will reduce the possibility of being sunk during sailing missions on the ocean.
2Look Out For Sub Parts

The aforementioned sub slot upgrades are not worth a dime if players don’t have equipment. Sub weapons and accessories can be acquired in several ways. Some of the best rarer items will be acquired through mission rewards. The Torpedo 1 weapon is one example and players can get that through the Bounty system.
Other weapons and accessories can be bought at shops with Water. Machine guns are great weapons, for example, and some accessories will increase the speed and health of the sub. Sincethe ship combatmoments can be easily skipped if players are slick enough with their driving skills, buying sub parts is not a high priority if Water resources are tight. Missions with the characters are the hardest part of the game.
1Build Up Your Utility Items
From Healing Items To Stat Boosters
Characters can equip a weapon for their class and they can carry one Utility Item into battle too. These can range from consumable healing items to offensive weapons during battle. They can also boost stats or give heroes certain advantages in combat. For example, the Boots will extend the range of movement while the Scope will add a literal line of sight to any weapon.
Of those two, Aim is the most important stat to increase as it can be hard to figure out a bullet’s trajectory otherwise. The Repair Kit 1 Utility Item is the earliesthealing unit players can get inSteamWorld Heist 2. The Big Repair Pack can be bought later and is more expensive but it is worth the price of admission. It can recover more HP and it can heal in an area just like the Engineer’s Maintenance Protocol skill.
