Summary
The endgame inDead by Daylightis an important part of a trial. This is when survivors are doorsteps away from escaping the grasp of the killer. While survivors have some great advantages on their side, certain killer perks can even the odds to secure a late victory.
From blocking exit gates to outright killing an Obsession, the endgame perk pool for killers is quite vast and powerful. A lot of these can catch survivors off guard as well, considering generator regression andaura-reading perks are more popular in the metausually. These endgame perks can also complement some fun and interesting playstyles to mix things up and keep the killing experience fresh.
1No Way Out
Block Exit Gates For A Minute
No Way Out is the most popular endgame killer perk inDead by Daylightfor a multitude of reasons. Firstly, it can block exit gates for a whole minute, which is a great amount of time to get an additional kill. It also guarantees a win in the Endgame Collapse. Secondly, it provides a Loud Noise Notification, which can immediately allow players to hunt down a survivor and get them hooked.
No Way Out is so reliable because of how easy its requirements are. Hooking each survivor once is a given unless killers resort to tunneling. No Way Out is a meta perk and one that every killer main should be looking toacquire quickly by leveling up the Trickster.
2Hex: No One Escapes Death
Make An Epic Comeback
While No Way Out dethroned Hex: No One Escapes Death (NOED) as theking of endgame perks, the latter is still a fantastic choice for any killer that does not have a power that allows them to insta-down survivors. Despite it being a Hex perk that is revealed to the survivors after a while, it can single-handedly let killers get back in the game.
A well-timed chase or a bunch of survivors trying to bodyblock for each other is a recipe for disaster when NOED is in play. It can allow killers to turn a two-kill game into a potential four-kill. For these reasons, NOED is always a safe choice to bring in any trial for its reliability and power.
3Blood Warden
Situational Game-Changer
Blood Warden is one of the three endgame-focused perks unique to The Nightmare, better known as Freddy Krueger. Arguably his most iconic perk, Blood Warden can absolutely change the tides of a match if its strict conditions are met.
Survivors usually wait at the exit gates to ensure the whole team escapes, which is a perfect situation for this perk. Blood Warden is also relatively unpopular, so many survivors won’t expect killers to be running it. Its conditions are extremely situational, but when it activates, players can almost guarantee a lost game being salvaged into a win.
4Remember Me
A Reliable Endgame Perk
The second, and Freddy’s most reliable unique perk, is Remember Me. This perk has far fewer restrictions compared to Blood Warden and can buy killers a lot of time. Pairing this with perks like No Way Out is a great way to put a chokehold on the endgame.
Remember Me is not as flashy as Blood Warden nor as strong as No Way Out. However, it is a solid perk that can always find value in any endgame-focused build, provided the killer can kill off the Obsession before the exit gates are powered.
5Fire Up
Become Stronger As The Trial Progresses
Freddy’s final, and weakest, unique perk is Fire Up. It provides the least value out of its three perks in the endgame, as its effects aren’t as game-changing as the other two. However, Fire Up is still a decent choice to run in an endgame build as it can provide value before the exit gates are powered as well.
While Fire Up will not guarantee a win for the killer, it is always nice to have increased action speed on a variety of things. This can sometimes be the difference between a chase ending quickly or being drawn out long enough for a match loss.
6Bitter Murmur
Hunt Down Survivors
Bitter Murmur is a common perk available to all killers inDead by Daylight. It is a far cry away from being astrong aura-reading perk, but it is one of the few that can work reliably in the endgame, unlike more popular ones such as Nowhere to Hide and Lethal Pursuer.
Getting to know where each survivor is headed once all the generators are completed is immensely helpful. It can help killers plan out chases and defend the exit gate, which will be under immediate threat. It pairs great with perks like NOED, making it a fine choice in an endgame build.
7Terminus
Make Survivors Remain Broken
Terminus is a very niche perk but one that provides great strength in the endgame. Inflicting the Broken effect on survivors is a great thing to have, and it can make chases end much quicker as survivors won’t be able to heal.
The perk will affect a large portion of the endgame, which further increases its value. Pairing it with other perks, such as Bitter Murmur and Coup de Grâce is a strong way to get maximum leverage out of Terminus' effects.
8Coup de Grâce
Unleash Massive Lunge Attacks
Speaking of Coup de Grâce, this perk is extremely strong in the midgame and the endgame as well. Having the ability to perform a massive lunge at least twice can be the difference maker between an escape and a kill. If killers are smart enough to save tokens for more than two instances of Coup de Grâce, the strength in the endgame skyrockets even more.
Coup de Grâce onbasic attack killers like Clown, Wraith, Hag, and more will appreciate this perk a lot. It is one of the best endgame perks to run as it can provide a solid impact in the endgame and outside of it.
9Game Afoot
Change The Obsession Depending On Chase Timers
Game Afoot on its own isn’t the best endgame perk by any stretch of the imagination. However, pairing it up with Rancor makes it a deadly combo that can allow killers to Mori every survivor if things go right. Its additional effect of providing haste after breaking walls and pallets can help in catching up with survivors who might run the Hope perk.
Needless to say, getting to Mori every survivor, regardless of their hook stage, is a terrifying prospect in the endgame. Game Afoot is the catalyst for one of the most brutal ways to end a survivor’s hope of escaping a trial.
10Rancor
Kill The Obsession
Rancor, on its own, is already a solid endgame perk as it allows killers to Mori their Obsession. However, as mentioned before, pairing it up with Game Afoot just makes it borderline cruel for the Survivors.A typical endgame buildusually consists of stalling perks, such as No Way Out, Remember Me, or Terminus alongside Game Afoot, Rancor, and NOED.
Rancor is somewhat problematic. It is quite unfair to kill off the survivors in an instant, regardless of how well they performed. All it takes is one good chase in the endgame for them to become the Obsession and get killed when using this perk combo. This is precisely why Rancor is an extremely strong endgame perk despite its negative connotations.
