Deltarune Outsells Mario Kart World on Nintendo Switch 2 eShop

These sales figures only represent digital revenue and are not representative of physical sales, and when accounting for those figures as well, Nintendo ultimately sold more copies ofMario Kart WorldthanDeltarune. This data falls in line with a previous report which found thatMario Kart Worldsold over 1 million copiesin Japan alone. However, physical copies ofDeltarunefor Switch aren’t available, so Nintendo definitely has a sizable advantage in that department.

In addition to these findings, Newzoo also pointed out thatDeltarunewas not the only third-party title doing well on the Nintendo Switch 2, with titles such asNo Man’s Sky,Fantasy Life, and evenCyberpunk 2077capturing a large amount of the total digital revenue in June 2025. Much likeDeltarune,Cyberpunk 2077announced an exclusive featurefor the Nintendo Switch 2, and when accounting for physical sales of the game, it was the third best-selling game on the console during its first month on the market.

Nintendo has a history of trouble selling third-party titles, and a recent NielsenIQ report found that at least during these early stages, most Nintendo Switch 2 game sales have been first-party. However, the impressive digital revenue figures of several independent and third-party titles during June reveal that there is a path to success on Nintendo consoles.
