The armor stat revamp forDestiny 2made a significant difference to how builds are made. Players now have more ways to build their characters, but now that the baseline performance for Guardians has changed, players need to be wise when it comes to choosing which stats they choose to prioritize.

Builds in the Crucible has always been about breakpoints, and the advent ofArmor 3.0 inDestiny 2did not change that. However, the meta has seen a drastic shift in regard to what things players should prioritize, and if you’re wondering how you’re able to stay competitive in the Crucible, here’s a quick guide on which stats you should focus on getting.

What Stats to Get for Destiny 2 PvP

Previously, Resilience and Recovery were the kings ofDestiny 2PvP builds, but now that those two have been consolidated into the Health stat, players will need to rethink their approach to buildcrafting. Arguably, the most important weapon stat forDestiny 2PvP is Weapons, as this can lead to some very interesting loadouts.

For the unaware, every 10 point of Weapons over 100 increases the damage players deal to other players by up to 6%. This number might seem small, but if you combine this with other damage-boosting effects like Radiant or the myriad of damage perks, some weapons will be able to significantly increase their optimal TTK values. Some examples include:

TTK breakpoints for many other weapons have improved due to the Weapons stat, but to save you the hassle,190 Weapons is the most ideal if you want all of your guns to feel better in the Crucible.

What About Other Stats?

Of course, Weapons isn’t the only important stat for PvP. If you’re perfectly fine with the old meta, or if you’re using a weapon that doesn’t benefit much from Weapons, then you may build around the following instead:

Super, Grenade, and Melee stats should never go beyond 100 in the Crucible, as their damage bonuses don’t matter as much there as comparedto difficult PvE content. Still, consider getting at least one of these to 100, and if you really want to make a 200 stat build, go right ahead and have fun.

What About Health?

All players now have the same amount of HP regardless of their Health stat in PvP. However, the higher your Health stat, the sooner you’ll start recovering HP after not taking damage. This is essentially the same as Recovery from before Armor 3.0.

Stacking Health is only recommended for players who want to minimize their downtime. In our experience playing through Crucible matches, about150 Health is good enoughto speed up your HP recovery in the Crucible.
