Summary
Dead Rising Deluxe Remasterintroduces several quality-of-life improvementsalong with its enhanced graphics. As well as the optional ability to move whilst aiming and shooting firearms, another major improvement is the AI of the survivors. An optional side objective of the game involves escorting and rescuing as many other friendly survivors trapped in the Willamette Parkview Mall as possible.
Though the improvement to survivor AI has left them a bit more competent and less frustrating than how they were in the original (something that many fans complained about), they’ll still need all the help they can get tofight through hordes of zombies. As Frank escorts these survivors to the safe haven of the Security Room, he can provide them with weapons to use. This helps give them a bit more of a fighting chance, though they’ll still be vulnerable if the player strays too far. To help verify these survivors reach the Safe House, here are thebest weapons to arm survivors with inDead Rising Deluxe Remaster.
5Shotgun
Blast ‘Em All
When giving survivors weapons,Dead Rising Deluxe Remasterplayers will have to think strategically about what is best for them to use. Certain items will be ineffective or break easily, whilst others could lead to a survivor accidentally killing another survivor (if Frank’s escorting more than one at the same time). Long range weapons like firearms are handy, as they’ll keep survivors at a safe distance. Unfortunately, the handgun is pretty ineffective, and survivors can struggle with them. So, this iswhere the shotgun comes inas one of the most powerful types of gun that players can give their survivors.
Like most shotguns in games, long range is traded for power and a wide spread, but it will still mean survivors can create a bit of distance between themselves and the zombie onslaught. The wide blast radius will mean that multiple zombies can be taken down at once, and survivors will be less likely to get surrounded by large groups of undead. And with the fact that survivors are blessed with infinite weapon durability and ammo, this makes the shotgun a great survivor gift and grants them a powerful way to clear a path to safety.
4Machete
Taking Notes From Danny Trejo
The machete has good power and speed, making it a reliable option and one of thebest melee weapons to gift to survivors. With it, Frank’s team of survivors will be able to slice through zombies with ease as they make their way back to the security room.
The drawback is that the machete isn’t widely available, at least until players defeatpsychopath Cliff Hudson in Crislip’s Home Saloon. However, once this feat is achieved, Frank will have unlimited access to the machete, as it will respawn next to the lawn mower every time he visits the store. This means that players can stock up for both Frank and his convoy of survivors.
3Katana
Allows Survivors To Channel Their Inner Samurai
There are many melee weapons to pass onto players inDead Rising Deluxe Remaster, from wooden 2x4’s to lead pipes. But a lot of these either have low damage output or are too short range, making it dangerous for survivors who are feeling brave. Instead, players should visit Ripper’s Blades or Ned’s Knicknackery and stock up on the katana, one of the best high-tier melee weapons to give to survivors. Players can also find an early game one on an orange ledge by jumping over the ledge of Colombian Roastmasters in Paradise Plaza.
It can attack quickly and deal out a good amount of damage, helping survivors cut down multiple zombies before they close in on them. Though highly effective when used by Frank, the fewdrawbacks to the katana are its limited durability, so it’s great to give to survivors instead, especially if it’s about to break. Due to their speed and damage output, it’s well worth squeezing in the effort to pick some up (if the 72-hour time limit allows).
2Battle Axe
Get Medieval On Zombie Heads
Since the mini chainsaws taken from Adam the Clownwork very well for Frank, players may be tempted to pass them to a survivor if feeling generous. However, due to the fact the saw’s blades are always spinning, they are a bit too deadly, and Frank or other survivors may get caught in the crossfire. As such, players should instead trya medieval style battle axe.
The battle axe is similar in effectiveness to the katana, but it allows for heavier and wider swings, enabling multiple zombies to be taken out at once. Just like the katana, players can take a trip to Ned’s Knicknackery and stock up.
1Submachine Gun
Rapidly Vanquish Enemies From Afar
Both great for Frank and survivors, if players are feeling generous and well equipped, they might want to think about giving their survivors a Submachine Gun.The gun has great rangeand a rapid-fire rate, which means that survivors can stay out of harm’s way and help Frank from a safe distance.
The Submachine Gun is usually found in harder to reach areas, such as a blue awning above Shoekin’s in Paradise Plaza, but it’s well worth putting in the extra effort to grab one (or two if lucky). This is especially the case if the gamer is making rescuing survivors a priority in their playthrough. Though rare, the Submachine Gun is one of the most effective options when it comes to ensuring a survivor’s safety.
