Dragon Age: Inquisition’s Finale Will Pale in Comparison to The Veilguard’s Intro, Director Says

The fourth entry in the series will be looking to one-up all of that drama from minute one. That’s according toDragon Age: The Veilguarddirector Corinne Busche, who hyped up the game’s intro in a recent interview with theEdgemagazine (viaGamesRadar). Specifically, the BioWare official said that the upcoming game’s introductory sequence will make the ending ofDragon Age: Inquisition"look like a minor inconvenience."

Busche’s promise of a bombastic opening is backed by theDragon Age: The Veilguardgameplay revealfrom mid-June 2024. Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s Intro Will Possibly Have Multiple Variants

Based on the series' track record and what the developers have revealed to date, it is plausible that the game’s opening sequence will have several variations. Specifically, althoughchoices fromDragon Age: Inquisitionwon’t carry over toThe Veilguardautomatically, players will be able to choose what happened in the previous games. All of this will be done in the character creator at the beginning of the game. Responding to one fan question via YouTube live chat, a BioWare representative recently said that these choices will have an impact on howThe Veilguardbegins. This all sounds somewhat reminiscent ofDragon Age: Origins, the first entry in the series that featured half a dozen unique prologue stories.

The fourth installment in the hit RPG franchise is still waiting for a firm release date, with BioWare so far only stating that the game is targeting a late 2024 launch. According to a recent report from industry insider Jeff Grubb,Dragon Age: The Veilguardwas most recently targeting an October 2024 release.
