In less than two months' time since its release,Black Myth: Wukonghad exceeded $1 billionin revenue on Steam alone, not even accounting for its PlayStation 5-based sales, which is a mighty feat for a developer that has been around since 2014 and has only two other games under its belt.
PM Studios has now confirmed that the game’s physical edition, which includes a disc, will be made available for PlayStation 5 owners on December 12 via a post on its official Twitter page. WhileBlack Myth: Wukong’s massive financial successcan be attributed to Game Science, PM Studios, which has a history of publishing physical releases of indie games, has the game listed on itsofficial website’s “Coming Soon” section. PM Studios has further stated that the physical release on December 12 will apply to both the U.S. and European markets, though it hasn’t yet responded to requests for release information in other regions, including Brazil.
Black Myth: Wukong Physical Release Date Revealed
Many fans of the action RPG have been eager for the release of the physical edition since the announcement that it would only be available in a digital-only format at launch. Following a leak, fans had previously been anticipating thephysical version ofBlack Myth: Wukongto hit the U.S. market on October 21, but that date turned out to be set aside for the opening of pre-orders for the game disc and not its actual launch.
While the action RPG’s physical release on PlayStation 5 opens the door for disc-collecting gamers to purchase the title, another batch of gamers could be getting the chance to play in the not-too-distant future. The Entertainment Software Rating Board released a mid-October rating forBlack Myth: Wukongon XboxSeries X|S. The development team had originally planned to launch the game for Xbox at the same time as its PlayStation 5 and PC releases, but unspecified issues have delayed that release. Still, the ESRB rating could point to Xbox players diving intoBlack Myth: Wukongsoon.
