Summary
ACall of Duty: Black Ops 6player has killed themselves with a grenade they threw across the map, instantly regretting the decision. There are countless ways thatCall of Duty: Black Ops 6gamers can be defeated, but this may be among the most bizarre examples.
Since it was released,Black Ops 6has reportedly brokenXbox Game Pass andCall of Dutyrecords. AlthoughCall of Dutyhas historically been a successful franchise, the latest release’s Xbox Game Pass inclusion combined with its continued multi-platform support has broadened the scope of who may have played it. The game remains in its early days, with Nuketown releasing ahead of Season 1’s launch. Like pastCall of Dutygames to include the map, the Nuketown 24/7 playlist remains a source of easier weapon XP. One gamer has discovered a unique way to kill themselves on this map by throwing a grenade across it during the chaos.
Reddit user Tslivs recently shared aCall of Duty: Black Ops 6clip in which they kill themselves with their own grenade. The clip begins with the player spawning in the garden behind Nuketown’s green house. The gamer quickly throws a grenade across the map towards the yellow house, after which they are quickly killed by a sniper on the opposite side of the green building. Without initiating a killcam, the game rapidly respawns the Reddit user next to the yellow house, right on top of the grenade they threw. As the player seemingly lacksthe Flak JacketBlack Ops 6perk, they are immediately killed by their grenade, with the combat log notifying the rest of their lobby.

Part of the issue highlighted in Tslivs' video is theproblematicBlack Ops 6spawns, which have been criticized by the community. It also takes place on the Nuketown map, which was introduced on November 1 and is a location that notoriously has a short time to kill. While the killcam may have allowed this player to wait a few moments before respawning under normal circumstances, they appear to be playing a Hardcore playlist. In Hardcore modes, players are unable to watch the killcam as it gives them an idea of which enemy killed them, and what method they used to do so.
While it’s unclear who won this match, Tslivs self-sabotage likely didn’t help their team achieve victory. AsTreyarch continues to updateCall of Duty: Black Ops 6, it may be less likely for players to grenade themselves like this after a future patch.
