When Does Black Ops 6 & Warzone Season 5 Start?
Season 5 forBlack Ops 6andWarzonebegins on Thursday, August 7 at 9 AM PTacross all platforms (Battle.net, Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X/S). Ahead of this major update, users will be able to pre-download Season 5’s content, allowing console players to jump in on day one without delay. Battle.net users will receive a second, smaller update once Season 5 goes live.

Multiplayer Maps & Modes
The first bit of Multiplayer content players can look forward to is a fresh roster of maps, split between the launch window of Season 5 and Season 5 Reloaded.W.M.D. returns(originally featured inBlack Ops) alongsidenew additions like Exchange, Runaway, and more.Here’s a breakdown of all the Multiplayer maps arriving with Season 5, and when to expect them:
Alongside fresh maps also come additional modes. These includeAim High(available at launch), where players embark on core modes like Team Deathmatch and more, except body shot damage is reduced, while headshots result in an instant kill.Snipers OnlyandCranked Moshpitalso return during the launch window.Cranked Demolition,Ransack, andBlueprint Gunfightdebut in time for the mid-season update, each consisting of previously seen modes with new spins.
The Reckoning Zombies Map
Season 5 also marks the debut of the fifth and final Zombies DLC map.The Reckoning forBlack Ops 6Zombies releases August 7 at 9 AM PT, taking players to Janus Towers in an epic showdown against S.A.M. followingthe events of the Shattered Veil Easter Egg Quest. Expect a grueling Easter Egg quest, Directed Mode for Season 5 Reloaded, and the conclusion to theBlack Ops 6Zombies storyline leading intoBlack Ops 7Zombies.
Alongside the Reckoning Zombies map, players can get their hands onthe Gorgofex Wonder Weapon, which is buildable on the Reckoning. Players can also look forward tothe Mister Peeks Field Upgrade, acting as a neat perk to draw the attention of zombies when deployed, and also coming with its own Augments for players to grind for.
Wrapping up the Zombies-specific content is the arrival ofGrief support for The Reckoningduring the launch window of Season 5, allowing players toduke it out in 4v4 action on the final Zombies mapforBlack Ops 6. Team Cranked also debuts with Season 5 Reloaded.
New Weapons & Loadout Options
Season 5 introducesa fresh wave of firepower to players’ loadouts, with a standout roster of new weapons. These include theABR A1, which is essentiallythe AUG last seen inBlack Ops Cold Warwith full-auto support, thePML 5.56 Light Machine Gun, and a new secondary Revolver for close-range combat. Here’s a breakdown of the new weapons and how to unlock them:
Arriving alongside the roster of new weapons are additional armament options, mainly consisting of new attachments and a Scorestreak for both Multiplayer and Zombies. The9mm PM Skull Splitterarrives at launch, increasing range and headshot damage for the 9mm PM at the expense of reduced fire rate and handling. ThePPSh-41 Helical Magazinealso debuts mid-season, drastically increasing the weapon’s magazine capacity. TheCombat Bowarrives mid-season as well, allowing players to fire an explosive-tipped arrow.
Warzone Content Updates
For theWarzoneside of things, the biggest piece of content isthe opening of Stadium on Verdansk, which brings its own unique additions. During Week One of Season 5, players can get their hands onthe Satellite Hijack Contract, which, upon completion, grants a unique limited-time reward.
Stadium Resurgencearrives in Week Two, bringing fast-paced action with 36 players competing in the newly opened Stadium. For mid-season, players can also jump intoDeadline, a limited-time mode where points are earned by securing eliminations, completing contracts, and more as zones progress. The team with the lowest score in each zone will be eliminated, and the last team standing will claim victory.
Season 5 Events Overview
Wrapping up the last bit of content for Season 5 are the arrival of brand-new Events during the launch window and Season 5 Reloaded.Each event comes with its own limited-time rewards, along with granting players access to additional armaments like the Boxing Gloves and the Gravemark .357 Revolver. Here is a breakdown of every event arriving with Season 5, alongside when to expect them:
Season 5 Reloaded is expected to release around the fourth week of Season 5 (August 28), based on the duration of past seasons. This is when players can expect much of the mid-season exclusive content, though a confirmed release date for the mid-season update has yet to be revealed.
