Gamescom Opening Night Live kicked off with a bang by revealingBorderlands 4, the next entry in Gearbox Software’s beloved looter-shooter franchise. Gearbox Software and 2K Games revealedBorderlands 4with a CG trailer that showed a burning phoenix in the sky and what appears to be longtime series setting Pandora crashing through some kind of field, sending apsycho bandit maskhurdling to the surface of an unknown planet. A robotic arm reaches out and grabs the mask, soon replaced by theBorderlands 4logo and the game’s confirmed platforms. As revealed by theBorderlands 4reveal trailer, the new game will be launching in 2025 for PC (through both Steam and the Epic Games Store), PS5, and Xbox Series X, marking the first true next-gen installment in the fan-favorite series.
