On social media, one fan responded to a Treyarch Tweet forfixing a majorBlack Ops 6double XP issueover the weekend. The tweet casually mentioned that SMGs as a whole felt very underpowered, likely indicating that the player wanted some sort of buff without outright asking for it. Associate director Matt Scronce responded to the player by admitting that using the term “very” felt a bit dramatic, but ultimately, it seems the studio agrees.

Without giving away too many details, Scronce teased that the studio is planning some weapon tuning on the way at some point, likely improving SMGs to make them more viable. Since the launch,assault rifles have been a popular pick forBlack Ops 6players, with the XM4 consistently ranking near the top thanks to it being available very early and having solid stats as a whole. It’s also highly customizable, proving to be a true jack of all trades weapon.

While Scronce didn’t provide an actual date for the weapon tuning update, it’s quite likely that the changes will be included withinCall of Duty: Black Ops 6’s upcoming Season 1 patch. Officially, the first season kicks off on November 14 and typically, these updates are massive in terms of adding new content and changes. In this case, Season 1 also sees the return of Battle Royale, which should only further to increase the game’s popularity.
