While the reasoning behind the increase in sales on the two platforms will remain speculation, it’s possible that thenegative reviews surroundingModern Warfare 3’s short campaignwas one of the reasons for its poor sales when compared to this year’sCall of Dutytitle, which received largely positive reviews from both fans and critics.

In the same interview with the BBC, Leslie discussed the impact that putting abrand-newCall of Dutygame on Xbox Game Passhas on the franchise. While Microsoft reported a record-breaking launch forBlack Ops 6, Treyarch’s associate creative director believes it allowed people who might be on the fence about purchasing to give it a shot, especially those who might not have played aCall of Dutytitle for quite some time. But now the studio’s biggest challenge is keeping players engaged for the game’s full life cycle, but Leslie says Treyarch has its “finger on the pulse of the community” to analyze and fix things right away.
