Summary
A developer forCall of Duty: Black Ops 6has confirmed that the Recon Combat Specialty is getting a much-needed nerf. Treyarch has been working tirelessly in the game’s early days to makeCall of Duty: Black Ops 6the best it can be, and this issue stands out among the crowd at the moment.
It would not be hyperbole to suggest that the Recon Combat Specialty inBlack Ops 6is one of the most overpowered perks to make it into aCall of Dutygame. Players have beencomplaining about thisBlack Ops 6perksince launch, and for good reason, with many wanting it removed altogether. Essentially, this perk allows players to see enemies through walls for a few seconds after spawning. Using it is insanely overpowered, and almost functions like inbuilt wallhacks. This has become even more apparent with the release of Nuketown, a tiny map with plenty of thin walls to shoot through. Players are constantly respawning on Nuketown, essentially giving them constant information about where the enemies spawn. It’s utterly broken in its current state.
Associate Director of Design at Treyarch, Matt Scronce, has confirmed that the ReconCombat Specialty inCall of Duty: Black Ops 6is finally getting nerfed in an upcoming update. In response to a complaint about the overpowered perk from content creator FaZe Swagg, Scronce replied a simple “Incoming.” The news prompted plenty of fans to respond, most pleased that they won’t be getting shot through walls quite as often anymore. While Scronce didn’t confirm a timeline for the fix, his response certainly suggests that players won’t be waiting long for the Recon Combat Specialty nerf.
Black Ops 6’s Recon Combat Specialty is Getting Nerfed
Unfortunately, Scronce stopped short of confirming the exact nature of the fix that will be added. Some players want it removed entirely, but that seems unlikely. Others want a counter-perk available as an option, something like Cold-Blooded, which appeared inpreviousCall of Dutygames. As it stands, there’s simply no way to counter it, so offering this option to players definitely seems like a likely solution at the moment.
So far, Treyarch has been pretty swift in solving the most egregious ofBlack Ops 6’s problems. Just recently, anannoyingCall of Duty: Black Ops 6Double XP weekend issuewas solved quickly, ensuring players could continue leveling at twice the normal speed. While the studio hasn’t confirmed a start date for Season One of the game yet, this likely isn’t far away now.
