Call of Duty Fans Are Upset With Black Ops 6’s First Double XP Weekend

November 1 was a massive day forBlack Ops 6players, as Treyarch not only added Nuketown into the game’s map pool but also gave it its own 24/7 playlist and kicked off a four-day Double XP event. Unfortunately, fans appear to be unhappy with the XP values for the special event. Multiple social media posts have blasted the 2XP as “ridiculous” and “a sham,” with a plethora of players claiming that their XP earned per match is half that of the score earned in a game. Twitter userCedgeTV, for example, earned a total of 12,340 score for a game of Domination on Nuketown, but only received a little over 6,000 XP for their efforts.

Call of Dutyplayers were begging Treyarch for a Double XP weekend as any tokens earned inModern Warfare 3have not carried over to the latest release, but it looks like the community has been left disappointed. While plenty ofBlack Ops 6players are coming up with ways to get more XP, a double XP weekend is often the perfect way to level up weapons and work the way through the ranks. Some usersare even speculating that Treyarch has turned down the XP values for the weekend, but there’s no way to know if this is actually the case. The likely scenario is that there’s currently a bug with the amount of XP earned by players.

Despite the incredibly slow rate at which are earning XP, that hasn’t stopped one individual fromalready reaching Prestige Master inBlack Ops 6. The return ofCall of Duty’s classic prestige system was a divisive move by Treyarch. While many new players resented the idea of having all of their progress reset with each prestige, old-school veterans of the franchise were ecstatic to see the feature return.
