Summary

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6players are being urged to revisitModern Warfare 3after a user discovered that simply playing and leveling up in the latest entry will unlock Battle Pass tokens for last year’sCall of Duty. While all of the cosmetic items and weapons earned inModern Warfare 3don’t carry over toBlack Ops 6, it is worth revisiting last year’s shooter simply to receive the available COD Points in the Battle Pass, which do transfer between titles.

WhenCall of Dutytransitioned from 2022’sModern Warfare 2into its successor,Modern Warfare 3, players were able to keep all of their earned weapons, cosmetic rewards, XP tokens, and COD Points thanks to a new feature that Activision was calling ‘Carry Forward’. Unfortunately, it was confirmed by the studio earlier this year thatno content would carry forward toBlack Ops 6upon its release. However, while fans can’t take any of their purchased bundles into this year’s entry, COD Points are linked between all titles that use the system and can be transferred betweenModern Warfare 3andBlack Ops 6.

Modern Warfare 3’s Battle Pass Can Be Leveled up in Black Ops 6

For players looking to maximize the number of COD Points on their account, or for those that enjoyplaying bothModern Warfare 3andBlack Ops 6simultaneously, fans have recently discovered that leveling up and playing Treyarch’s newest shooter will actually level up the Battle Pass inModern Warfare 3. While it won’t increase your overall level, it does allow users to playBlack Ops 6while still making progress inModern Warfare 3’s Battle Pass, and for those still playing the 2023Call of Dutytitle, it’s a great way to take a break without falling behind on progression.

While the Battle Pass system has always been a great way to unlock new cosmetic items, weapon blueprints, and double XP tokens, it’s also one of the best ways forCall of Dutyplayers to earn COD Points, which can then be spent in theCall of Dutystore on new cosmetic items, like operator skins and weapon blueprints. For those who have leveled up a great deal inBlack Ops 6since its launch and own the Battle Pass inModern Warfare 3(or those who want to make the most of the game’s free Battle Pass rewards), there are likely some tokens waiting to be claimed. Twitter user Detonated, for example, returned to 33 tokens waiting for them.

It is worth noting that players who have left auto-unlock enabled inModern Warfare 3orWarzonewill not be returning to any available tokens, as the Battle Pass rewards will have been automatically added to the user’s account as they played. And while there isn’t exactly an abundance of bundles available in the latestCall of Dutyjust yet,Season 1 ofBlack Ops 6is set for November 14, which will likely add a plethora of new cosmetic items to the store for players to spend all of those COD Points on.
