With Season 5 right around the corner,Call of Duty: Black Ops 6has given fans a brief look at the new Zombies map due to release as part of the new season. Currently,Call of Duty: Black Ops 6players are still enjoying Season 4, which brought crossovers likeBallerinafrom theJohn Wickuniverse, an extensiveBeavis and Butt-Headevent, the addition of Grief mode in Zombies, and a whole lot more.

The release ofBlack Ops 6late last year saw the return of round-based zombies at launch for the first time sinceBlack Ops Cold Warin 2020.Black Ops 6offered two Zombies maps immediately upon release: the suburban town-set Liberty Falls and the cliffside prison map named Terminus, which reminded longtime fans of the classicBlack Ops 2map Mob of the Dead. In the seasons to follow, Treyarch added three more maps toBlack Ops 6’s impressive Zombies suite. Citadelle des Morts is a map that takes place in and around a French castle, The Tomb takes players through a dig site tunnel system, and the most recent addition, Shattered Veil, sees players mowing down zombie hoards in an expansive, mystical mansion.

With Season 4 not adding a new Zombies map,Black Ops 6fans are getting a new one as part of Season 5. On Twitter, Treyarch posted a nine-second teaser clip of Season 5’s new Zombies map with the caption “It all comes down to this,” indicating this could end up beingBlack Ops 6’s final new Zombies map. The clip is very difficult to make out, as it’s covered with a classic 90s VHS effect and the camera is very fast and shaky. The footage seems to be taking place in the lobby of the Janus Project research facility, as can be seen by the organization’s logo on the lobby floor and “Janus Security” in the upper right side of the footage.

Black Ops 6 Teases New Zombies Map Coming in Season 5

Project Janus is one of the main components ofBlack Ops 6’s Zombies narrative that hardcore fans have been learning about throughout the game’s maps, so having the chance to finally infiltrate the facility in Season 5 as what seems to be the game’s Zombies finale is quite exciting. The footage shared in Treyarch’s tweet is very reminiscent of one ofBlack Ops 6’s more memorable campaign missions, Emergence, which sees players come face-to-face with Zombies for the first time ever in aCall of Dutycampaign. The facility players get to explore in Emergence looks quite similar to the Janus Project facility briefly teased in Treyarch’s clip, though they’re confirmed to be unrelated.

Season 5 ofCall of Duty: Black Ops 6is expected to begin on August 7, so there are only a few more weeks for players to enjoy Season 4. As always, Treyarch will surely unveil all Season 5 will have to offer in the days leading up to the new season, including presumably a fuller look at this exciting new Janus Project map.
