Over on theModern Warfare 3andCall of Dutysubreddits, numerous posts are calling out Activision for forcing players to redownload numerous game files. Reddit userKyeithelsaid that they were disconnected from a multiplayer game and forced to update their game, only to discover that their files had been deleted after the fact. They then referred to the update policy as “nonsense.” In response, Reddit userFortunes_foesaid that theCall of DutyHQ app is “the worst launcher ever” and stated that “it’s amazing how bad it is.”

Although the update has caused plenty of controversy, Activision says the new user interface will allow users to manage theirCall of Dutygames more efficiently. As all-newCall of Dutytitles now fall under a singular app, the overall storage size has been a common complaint in the game’s community. With thefile size ofBlack Ops 6being roughly 145GB when all three modes are installed, players will find that theCall of Dutyapp takes up roughly 300GB with previous games installed. But thanks to a new UI, it’s now much easier to manage which games and modes are taking up precious hard drive space.
