This means that fans will be able to enjoy it in its entire glory. Look Back will be released on Amazon Prime Video, so viewers need a subscription to watch it.
Look Back Was A Critical Success
Ever since its release, Look Back has earned a lot of positive acclaim. Currently, it has a rating of 8.3 on IMDband 8.90 on MyAnimeList. Look Back is based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s one-shot manga of the same name, which was released in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump+ in 2021. Look Back has over 150 pages, making it one of the longer one-shot manga.
The adaptation was announced back in February 2024. It was screened at the French Annecy International Animation Film Festival, where it participated in a non-competitive category.Look Back was released inJapanese cinemas on Jul 15, 2025.
The film managed to earn over $6 million, which is a respectable amount. Meanwhile, the one-shot was read by over 4 million people within the first week of its debut. Additionally, the manga was nominated for several awards, and it ended up winning a few of them.

Look Back follows the life of Ayumu Fujino, a talented manga artist who starts a rivalry with her classmate. The competitiveness between the two pushes them to improve their art and find their true purpose.
