Demon Slayeris back with the newest movie, and its popularity has skyrocketed once again.Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 - Akaza’s Return, finally dropped in Japan. This series is absolutely massive right now, and has been since its first anime season. This everlasting popularity however couldn’t have been achievedwithout its main character, Tanjiro. The creator, however, had their doubts about him.

The Series Has Amazing Battles And A Lot Of Emotionally Charged Scenes
Demon Slayeris, currently, one of the most successful series in the world. The manga was always popular, but the anime took its popularity to another level, especially with the beautiful animation and direction it was given.
Of course, the movie came shortly after, and the rest is history.Demon Slayerhas excelled at movies, and each one has been absolutely massive. The Mugen Train movie broke all records in Japan, and now, the newest movie, Akaza’s Return, has broken all these records again. It goes to show that the finalDemon Slayermovie could reach unfathomable heights once it drops, and set records that would then be maintained for years to come.
What makes the Demon Slayer series so popular is a combination of many things. Undoubtedly, the series got lucky to get such amazing animation. But animation wouldn’t take the series far without a compelling story. The story is simple, but it has managed to deliver some incredible fights, with quite a few emotionally charged moments.
A lot of this is thanks to Tanjiro. That said, it would shock fans to learn that the creator of Demon Slayer thought he might not be all that interesting.
Gotoge Thought Tanjiro Might not be Interesting
Tanjiro is the beloved main character of Demon Slayer. He is, thus, the center of this story. The creator of Demon Slayer, Koyoharu Gotoge, was not sure about how well-liked Tanjiro would be. Gotoge thought Tanjiro was too normal, and that he might not be very interesting. This was all revealed by Gotoge’s editor, Katayama, in “The Making of a Jump Manga! Volume 5.”
“Gotoge-sensei has an oblivious side to him, and sometimes he can’t objectively see his own strengths.Even when it comes to Tanjirohe makes comments like “He’s too normal, I can’t decide if he’s interesting”, so I have to insist that he’s fine that way. There are points that while I think are great, Gotoge-sensei thinks nothing of. It’s just how he is, so I have to make sure that those interesting qualities don’t get missed.” — Katayama

The Demon Slayer manga concluded long ago, in 2020 to be specific. The story is rather short compared to most other series, and only spans over 205 chapters. Fans of the series who don’t want to wait for the movies to drop can check the manga out on Manga Plus.
Meanwhile, for the anime, the series currently has 4 anime seasons. These anime seasons can all be found on Crunchyroll. The rest of the series will be animated into movies, for which fans will have to wait for a theatrical release. The release date, in this case, depends on their country.
