AfterDestiny 2players discover a number of changes and tweaks inside the Edge of Fate expansion not listed in the patch notes, Bungie’s communication manager provides an update. It’s been a big week forDestiny 2fans as the Edge of Fate expansion finally launched, though the first week hasn’t always been the smoothest of rides for players.

For months now, Bungie has been teasing and highlighting many of the new features and plannedchanges Edge of Fate would bring toDestiny 2. The expansion itself was viewed as a new phase forDestiny 2, and with it, Bungie planned to overhaul major sandbox and core systems like armor and how players access content through the Portal. However, the recent update also seems to have caused quite a stir with players as there appears to be more happening under the surface than Bungie previously announced.

Following themassive Edge of Fate update forDestiny 2, players started coming across some changes they didn’t expect. Specifically, players noticed that the Warlock class felt a lot weaker as if many abilities were nerfed as well as other “stealth” nerfs. In fact, some players have discovered that the exotic auto rifle Choir of One suddenly had access to more ammo than normal. As it turns out, some of these discovered issues were actually intentional changes that accidentally missed the patch notes.

Bungie Apologizes for Unannounced Changes in Edge of Fate

Responding to community concerns, Dylan Gafner, Bungie’s Principal Communications Manager, confirmed that not all the Edge of Fate changes inDestiny 2made it into the published patch notes. Gafner confirmed that this omission wasn’t intentional, and apologized for it having happened. Discovered issues, like with the Warlock abilities, were confirmed by Gafner, who confirmed that the missing notes would be made public, though for now, there isn’t a timeframe for when that will happen. This is on top of all the currentlyplanned changes coming toDestiny 2in the coming weeks and months.

Fans were understandably annoyed by the confirmation, with some calling into question Bungie’s overall QA process in general, as some of the discovered changes have been deemed as being overly reactive and harsh. Unfortunately for Bungie, this issue comes at a tough time by compounding many of the current frustrations inside the community. While Bungie continues to work on addressing these issues and improving the game, some have hope that themessyDestiny 2expansion launchnow will ultimately lead to a better experience down the road.
