These will differ between PvE and PvP, both because glaives usually don’t see a lot of play in PvP, but also because perks like Chill Clip wouldn’t even activate in the Crucible due to Rake Angle’s base magazine capacity being 4 and players starting with one ammo. Why Destiny 2 Players Shouldn’t Sleep on Chill Clip on Rake Angle
Destiny 2’s glaiveshave had a rocky launch and never truly peaked outside of their niche, but Bungie is still adding new weapons for this archetype and making some changes to how they work. In the case of Rake Angle, players should look forward to the combo of Replenishing Aegis and Chill Clip, with other parts of the weapon increasing range and/or shield duration as much as possible. This is because Replenishing Aegis makes it so that players can continuously reload the weapon while blocking damage, which combos perfectly with Chill Clip.
One of the most popular perks on Legendary weapons since it was introduced,Chill Clip will freeze targetsin two or three hits depending on the weapon that is being used. For glaives, that’s two, and that is particularly handy with Rake Angle since its base magazine is 4, meaning that the first three shots will always slow targets until they’re frozen. With Replenishing Aegis,Destiny 2players can chain this process over and over assuming they have enough ammo for the weapon to shoot a few projectiles. This is done in the following way:
This is not only a fungod roll inDestiny 2, but it’s a great way to apply crowd control and stay safe even in endgame content. However, players will also need to make sure that their haft and magazine rolls complement the weapon’s stats by not reducing shield duration. Reducing reload speed is not too big of a deal, considering that Replenishing Aegis can make players never have to manually reload.
WithDestiny 2’s Revenantfocusing on Stasis, Chill Clip is particularly valuable right now, especially if combined with some of the artifact mods for the episode. Even after Revenant ends, however, Rake Angle is going to be one of the better glaives to have considering it goes in the Kinetic slot, meaning players will be free to run their Exotic in the Energy or Heavy slots. Now is also the best time to farm Rake Angle thanks to the double loot from Vanguard activities, and since GM Nightfalls drop the weapon’s Adept version, players who want the absolute best version of the glaive can farm there.
