Lair Bosses drop Unique items at a much higher rate, and this one in particular is the only one with Ring of the Midnight Sun on its loot list.
Tormented Lair Bosses have a similar chance to drop Unique Items as their Standard counterparts, so the extra materials used in the ritual simply aren’t worth it.
