Summary
The recentDragon Age: The Veilguardupdate adds two new outfits for Rook inspired by N7 fromMass Effect. While the nextMass Effectgame is quite a few years away, BioWare has consistently provided fans with an update each November 7, or N7 Day. Following the lackluster response toAndromedaandAnthem, BioWare placed theMass Effectfranchise on hold, choosing instead to focus on the next installment ofDragon Age. Despite several delays and production woes,Dragon Age: The Veilguardlaunched to critical and popular acclaim, albeit not without its shortcomings.
Though the game continues to exceed expectations and is EA’s biggest single-player launch on Steam ever, BioWare made the decision not to createany DLC forDragon Age: The Veilguard, and has already directed the team’s full attention to the nextMass Effect. While not much is known about the project, the stylish N7 armor from its 2023 teaser caught the attention of many a fan.
To celebrate this year’s N7 Day, players will be able to obtain two outfits inspired by it inDragon Age: The Veilguard. The armor is not an exact replica and is mostly made with the world of Thedas in mind. It was announcedby BioWare in a blog postfor N7 Day, and players can obtain the new items by downloading the latest patch forThe Veilguard, traveling to the Lighthouse, and opening a chest near the Caretaker’s Workshop. The N7 armor comes in two varieties with a matching helmet, accompanied by a letter written by Lace Harding. Given that it’s marked as a cosmetic, any class inDragon Age: The Veilguardcan use it and can apply the appearance by interacting with the Wardrobe in Rook’s room.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Adds Two Mass Effect-Inspired Outfits for N7 Day 2024
While the color scheme is distinctly inspired by N7, the overall design of the armor is far removed from the sci-fi aesthetic ofMass Effect. It easily fits in with the rest of theoutfits inDragon Age: The Veilguardand arguably is a more stylish option than the iconic Blood Dragon Armor from the pre-order bonus. The BioWare team thanked fans for their continued support, and even teased thatMass Effectwould partner up withDestiny 2andNo Man’s Skyonce again.
It remains to be seen howDragon Age: The Veilguardwill inspire the nextMass Effectgame, and it may be years until players get their first look at any gameplay footage. That being said, Michael Gamble pointed out thatMass Effectwould not mimicThe Veilguard’s art styleand would instead keep the same “photorealistic” approach from earlier games.
