It’s only going to get bigger once DLC comes along, withDragon Ball Super: Super Hero’s Gammas 1 & 2, andDragon Ball Daima’s Vegeta Mini and Glorio being confirmed. But there’s room for more.
Maybe Orange Piccolo and Beast Gohan could turn up, or Chichi could turn up, so players could have Goku’s whole family fight as a team. Or maybe it could have weird guest characters that stick out. The latter isn’t very likely, but with the power of modding, players can add whoever they like toDBSZ’s PC port. Here are just some of the more notable character mods that players can add to their game.
10Shrek
An All-Star Ranked Competitor
Why go for Beast Gohan when players can have an ogre? With over 20 years’ worth of memes, people can’t get enough ofShrek. It’s almost hard to imagine a time when he wasn’t a thing, as it feels like he’s always been around. Maybe people are right when they say Shrek is love, Shrek is life.
Now, Shrek can fight for justice too, as this mod by MrMorritos3D places the famous ogre on base Toppo. Through the power of his United Justice Beam, he can finally get everyone else out of his swamp for good. Only time will tell if the other Pride Troopers will get their own Shrek mods too.
9Shaggy
Zoinks!
Norville ‘Shaggy’ Rogersis one of the most powerful beings in fiction, or so the gag goes. He’s beena fixture in memesever since fans spotted a bootleg figure of theScooby-Doostar with white hair, looking like he went Ultra Instinct. Warner Bros have even capitalized on the meme by giving him a powered-up form inMultiversusand taking outMortal Kombat’s Scorpion.
So, one would think this mod puts him over Ultra Instinct Goku. But that would be predictable. He’s actually modded over Gohan, be it his regular self or as the great Saiyaman. So, he’s not the ultimate destroyer of worlds that the memes made him out to be here. He’s just the Ultimate Gohan, which for some is close enough.
8The Xenomorph
Its Structural Perfection is Matched Only By its Hostility
Frieza’s 3rd form is clearly inspired by theXenomorph from theAlienseries. But it tends to get brushed off, as his smaller, round-headed form is more iconic and powerful anyway. Though some fans might like to see who the best long-headed alien monster is. Well, they can now do exactly that with this mod.
ViraLCyclopes mods the monster over Super Saiyan 4 Goku, using a model fromAliens Fireteam Elite. The creature is already famous for its brutal lethality. Giving it the ability to fire a Kamehameha and go Kaioken seems like overkill. But in a series full of ki-blasting extra-terrestrials that could nuke it from orbit, it may need all the help it can get.

Angry, Shouty Muscle Man Arrives to Fight Other Angry, Shouty, Muscle Men
TheDBseries is full of divine beings, from angels like Whis to literal gods like Beerus and the Kais. Even mortals like Goku and Vegeta managed to attain divine status through their different power-ups. Which could make them fair game for another divine mortal with an axe to grind against the gods.
MrMorritos3D turns classic Broly intoKratos fromGod of War. After tearing his way through the Greek and Norse pantheons, players can now put him up against the godly might ofDB’s strongest. Except he’s traded in the Blades of Chaos and the Leviathan Axe for the Explosive Wave and Omega Blaster. Which is fair enough, as they’renot the strangest thingshe’s had to use in battle.

Can the Triforce of Courage Hold Up Against the Super Saiyans?
Tapion fights with a sword and plays a magic ocarina that casts spells and buffs. So, it seemed inevitable someone would turn him intoLink fromThe Legend of Zelda. The hat fits, so why not wear it? But like buses, people wait for it to happen, only for two to come along at once. There’s one by Toast, and another by PurpleHato and SkilarBabcock.
While Toast’s is a solid model, the latter is the best of the two, with better shading and details. It’s essentially just Link’s hair and clothes over Tapion’s model, but it really makes him look like the Hero of Time in Toriyama’s art style. All fans need now is a mod that replaces Hirudegarn withOcarina of TimeGanon, and it’ll be perfect.

Here We Go Again
Grand Theft AutoandDBboth involve wanton violence, but they’re worlds apart from each other. The former is grittier and more grounded, while the latter isn’t afraid of making its all-powerful threats to humanity goofy pink blobs like Majin Buu. But what ifCarl ‘CJ’ Johnsontook a wrong turn out of Grove Street and ended up on Planet Namek?
MrMorritos3D’s mod replaces all Gokus with the protagonist ofGTA: San Andreas. That way, he can claim all the stages inDBSZfor the Grove Street Families, whether he’s roasting Frieza on Namek, or eliminating Jiren from the Tournament of Power. Though as threatening as they are, they’re still likely to be less of a pain in the neckthan Officer Tenpenny.
4Big Smoke
Dropping a Train on Fools
Just as Vegeta is the 2nd most powerful figure inDB,Big Smokeis the 2nd most popular figure fromGTA: San Andreas. His epic fast-food order, dramatic betrayal of CJ, and his irritation with CJ’s train-following failure made him just as (in)famous online. So, it felt only right for MrMorritos3D to mod the guy over all the Vegetas inDBSZ.
They contrast well with each other, given Vegeta was an enemy-turned-friend(-ish), and Big Smoke was a friend(ish)-turned-enemy. Now classicGTAfans can get revenge on the turncoat by blasting him out of the sky with CJ. Or they can join Big Smoke’s side and waste CJ with the Final Flash.
3Big CJ
Keeping Things in the Family
People say, “if you can’t beat them, join them”, but this is ridiculous. After having made CJ and Big Smoke over Goku and Vegeta, MrMorritos3D couldn’t help but find out what would happen if the two learnedthe Fusion Dance. The answer is they’d becomeBig CJ, which fits over all Gogetas in the game.
Through their combined power, they could withstand a 5-star Wanted level while raiding Cluckin’ Bell of all their #9s. But withinDBSZ, they’ll have to make do with crushing Zamasu and Broly with their overwhelming power. All the game needs now is CJ Smoke to fit over all the Vegitos to complete the set.
2Donkey Kong
He’s Finally Here
Players had a lot of trouble dealing with Great Ape Vegeta in the game, to the point where they said beating him was borderline impossible. It doesn’t help that he likes to spam ki beams until the player is dared to retry the battle on an easier difficulty. The only way it could be more humiliating would be if they installed thisDonkey Kongmod on top of him.
It replaces Vegeta’s Oozaru form with Nintendo’s prime primate. He’s less intimidating, though it doesn’t make him any easier to fight. The mod even works in online fights, if players want to be the ones pounding opponents like a bongo instead of getting drummed by its AI. All the game needs now is a similar mod for King K. Rool to bring kaiju-sized carnage toDBSZ.
1Luffy Gear 5
The Warrior of Liberation Arrives
Guest characters are common in tournament fighters, but less so in arena fighters. It could be due to licensing and legal terms, but the otherDBgames rarely, if ever, featured characters from other series or franchises. Not unless it was an official crossover likeFamicom JumporJump Forceanyway.
But hope is not lost, as this mod bringsOne Piece’s Luffyinto the fray in Gear 5. This form was impressive as it made the would-be King of the Pirates a powerful forcethat could twist reality itself. Luffy usually used it to fight foes with Looney Tunes-esque transformations, but since this is a regular mod, players will have to make do with Piccolo and/or Nail’s moves instead.
