As you take on the countless foes that await you inDragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, you’ll need to learn all the different ways of evading and blocking attacks. Even once you’ve mastered that, you may still get caught in a combo pretty easily, so it’s good to know how to use Revenge Counter to escape them and deal some damage in the process.

The Revenge Counter is a technique inDragon Ball: Sparking! Zerothat allows you to interrupt an opponent’s Rush Combo or Ki Blast with an attack of your own. While this can only be used when you’re being attacked from the front, it can be a powerful last resort for escaping combos and launching a counterattack.

How the Revenge Counter Works in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero

The Revenge Counter can be used, at the cost of 2 skill count, whenever you are being attacked from the front with a Rush Combo or Ki Blast. To activate Revenge Counter on PS5 and Xbox, simply press the right stick in (R3) while under attack. Your character will break out of the combo and launch a counterstrike of their own. While the Revenge Counter is powerful, it is important to note that it cannot be used when you don’t have at least 2 Skill Count, nor can it be used when you are attacked from behind.

After successfully performing a Revenge Counter, your best options are to begin your own Rush Combo, or get some distance and fire some ki blasts. While you could potentially use a grab to follow-up and then launch a Super Attack, this is riskier due to the likelihood of your opponent attempting another Rush Combo after your counter.

It is also important to note that Revenge Counters can be interrupted using Super Counter, which is performed by pressing the Super Perception button(Circle for PS5, B for Xbox, Q for PC) right as a Revenge Counter attack is going to connect. Mastering the timing of Super Counter can let you get the upper hand against an opponent who relies on Revenge Counter too much, but it is also the greatest risk you face when attempting to use your own Revenge Counter.
