Summary
The Z-Fighters are the main characters of theDragon Ballfranchise and the protectors of Universe 7, as was seen in the Tournament of Power. Over the years, the heroes have faced off against some exceptionally powerful enemies who would have destroyed everything had it not been for their valiant efforts. As a result of these actions, many powerful villains have turned good and joined their ranks too.
Because of this noticeable trend of villains turning into heroes, many in the fandom believe that there are a few characters in the series who are very likely to join the Z-Fighters sometime in the near future asmore of Universe 7’s protectors. In this article, let’s look at who the most likely candidates for joining the Z-Fighters are and see how their inclusion into the team will changeDragon Ballforever.
Dragon Ball Super, Chapter 67, “Happy Endings… And Then…”
Story Arc
Granolah the Survivor Saga
Granolah is the last surviving member of a race known as the Cerealians, who were completely wiped out by the Saiyans around 50 years ago. Due to this, Granolah spent his entire life trying toget stronger by honing his skillsso that when the day finally came, he would be strong enough to defeat the Saiyans who took everything from him. However, he was unable to become sufficiently powerful by himself, so he used the Cerealian Dragon Balls to become the strongest in the universe at the cost of much of his overall lifespan.
Greatest warrior in the universe. So you wish to become the most powerful life-form apart from the Gods themselves.
This made him the primary antagonist for the initial part of the Granolah Saga, although later, he understood how he had been manipulated by the Heeters and how the Saiyans had been manipulated by Frieza, prompting him to join forces with Goku and Vegeta to defeat Gas. The arc ended on a fairly positive note, as Granolah was now seen as a valuable ally to the Saiyans and is very likely to join the Z-Fighters in the fight against Black Frieza.
Android Saga
Introduced as one of the two Androids who left Future Trunks' timeline in complete ruin, Android 17 was a ruthless monster when he was first introduced. However, he has since become an incredibly important character for his native universe, considering that it was him, Frieza, and Goku who came together to defeat Jiren. Eventually, 17’s wish revived all the destroyed universes and, in turn, saved reality from being erased by Zeno.
Sacrificing myself for others… I kind of like how human that is.
Despite his vital role in the Tournament of Power, 17 isn’t officially a part of the Z-Fighters because he just prefers to remain on the sidelines as a park ranger in the memory of Android 16. Although he likes to keep quiet and leave all the fighting to everyone else, he still made a valiant stand against Moro, so as far as many in theDragon Ballcommunity are concerned, 17 is already a Z-Fighter.
Broly Arc
As one of thestrongest mortals in the entire multiverse, Broly is a very valuable asset to Universe 7. Born a genetic anomaly with an insanely high innate power level, Broly was exiled to Planet Vampa to die out of fear and jealousy by King Vegeta. Broly spent his entire life in the harsh conditions of this planet and trained with his father, although this wasn’t enough for him to learn to control his power, as was seen in his eventual battle against Goku, Vegeta, and Gogeta.
I feel they’re similar somehow. Gohan and Broly… Indeed, Broly does give off the Beast vibe, doesn’t he…?
By finally facing people stronger than him and having free rein to lose control, Broly became an insanely powerful rage monster who was only defeated when Goku and Vegeta fused into Gogeta to take him down. Since then, the manga has shown Broly training under Goku, Vegeta, and Whis to hone his powers, which he did in Chapter 103, where he mastered his Super Saiyan transformation to be on the same level as the other Saiyans there. Just like 17, most believe that Broly is already a Z-Fighter who will join Goku and Vegeta on their adventures in the future.
