October 2025 is going to be a sad month for fans ofEA-published games, as the company is scheduled to pull the plug on four of its games that month.EAhasn’t been shy about shutting down its games throughout 2025, starting the year off with a mobile bloodbath that saw everything fromThe Simpsons: Tapped OuttoFrontline Commando: D-Dayshut down.

Since then, EA game shutdowns have not been quite as frequent, though it seems new titles are adding to the chopping block every month.UFC 3was shut down in February, whileEA Sports UFC Mobile 2andNCAA 14were both shut down in March.Madden NFL 21was shut down in June, but otherwise there haven’t been any other EA shut-downs. However, EA has confirmed games that will be shut down later in the year, with one title actually ceasing its online services earlier than was previously announced.

EA

Initially, EA claimed thatFIFA 23would be shut down on December 12. The company has now movedFIFA 23’s shutdown date forward, confirming that the game will be shutting down on October 30 instead. ButFIFA 23isn’t the only EA game shutting down in October. EA will also be shutting downNHL 21on October 6,Need for Speed: Rivalson October 7, andMadden NFL 22on October 20. Needless to say, anyone interested in playing these games to their fullest will want to make a point to do so sooner rather than later. Once they’re shut down, their online features will cease to exist and certain achievements/trophies will become impossible to unlock.

List of EA Games Shutting Down in 2025

It’s definitely sad thatEA keeps shutting games down, rendering it impossible for gamers to experience every aspect of the games after a certain date. To its credit, though, EA at least gives fans months-in-advance notice about shutdowns so they can plan accordingly. Even so, EA shutting games down on such a regular basis may shake consumer confidence in investing in the company’s products. After all, why would someone get an annual EA sports game and buy its microtransactions if they know that its online will become irrelevant in just a few years after launch?

That doesn’t seem to have been a problem for EA to date. EA’s big annual sports games consistently sell like hotcakes, and the same will likely hold true for the 2025 offerings. Fans will find out soon asMadden NFL 26andEA Sports FC 26are both expected to launch within the next couple of months.
