One Pieceis one of the longest-running manga series in the world. It began serialization in 1997 and has since released more than 1100 chapters. Usually there is a decline in the quality as the series goes on, but that’s not been the case for One Piece. The series' success is down to Eiichiro Oda’s hard work and dedication. The author of One Piece has consistently written high-quality chapters, but one thing is worrying fans.

Eiichiro Oda’s Physical Health Is Not In the Best Shape

Eiichiro Oda is dedicated to One Pieceand its fan base, which is why he has spent years working on the series. According to various reports, Eiichiro Oda has a poor sleep schedule. He sleeps from 9AM to 12PM, which is just three hours' worth of sleep. It is advised to get at least 7 hours of sleep, so Oda is well below the optimal limit.

Oda doesn’t get enough rest, and, on top of that, he works every week. Keeping his hectic schedule in mind, it’s hardly surprising that he has developed health problems. He has even started taking more breaks (which is a good thing), but it’s just damage mitigation. What Oda needs is a longrest, and that can only happen in one way.

Eiichiro Oda Needs To End One Piece For His Own Sake

The Author Needs To Finish The Manga Before Things Get Worse

Eiichiro Oda can only get a proper rest and recover when he wraps up the One Piece manga. He has been working for decades on One Piece, and he has earned a lengthy rest. However, he’s still reluctant to do so because he doesn’t want to disappoint the fans.Oda certainly has noble intentions, but it’s about that he prioritizes his health. One Piece fans are aware of Oda’s condition, and they wouldn’t mind if the author took a long break. After all, they understand a person’s life is worth more than any manga.

One Piece fans have seen other mangaka suffering from health issues because they ignored their health. Yoshihiro Togashi is the prime example of a popular mangaka having multiple issues because of overworking themselves for many years. Togashi went on an indefinite hiatus ashe couldn’t work on Hunter x Hunter. The author returned with a handful of chapters but went on another break after just a few weeks. It’s quite obvious that Togashi’s health is not what it used to be, but he’s still doing his best to deliver new content to fans. Oda needs to take note of Togashi and pay more attention to his health.

When Will The One Piece Manga End?

The One Piece Manga Might End In 2030

In 2022, Oda had said that One Piece would end in three years, but the story is still far from over. The Final Saga of One Piece hasjust started, and there are still many things that need to be addressed, and knowing Oda, he will not rest until everything is complete. Depending on how Oda wants to handle the story, it could easily take another 4–5 years for the manga to end. Nobody wants One Piece to end, but it’s the only way to stop Oda. He does not want to let down fans, which is why a long break is out of the question.

After One Piece is over, Shonen Jump will have to find another new series that could have a similar level of impact as Oda’s magnum opus. There are several contenders already, including:

With time, there will be even more series that might help Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. Needless to say, the new titles will have big boots to fill, and not all of them will have a positive impact, but Shueisha has to keep trying. For the time being, the magazine can rely on One Piece to keep it above the competition.
