PilgrimsandKeylockerare theEpic Games Store’s free games for July 31. The newly announced giveaway will mark the first time either title is being given away toEpic Games Storeusers.
Between July 17 and 24,Epic has been giving away the Platinum Edition ofCivilization 6, which includes two of the game’s expansions and another half a dozen DLC packs. This promotional offer is now officially over, having been replaced with another freebie in the form ofLegion TD 2.
With theEpic Games Store’sLegion TD 2giveaway underway, the storefront did what it usually does and revealed its free titles for next week:PilgrimsandKeylocker. The latter is technically billed as a day-one release, albeit only on the Epic Games Store, having previously debuted on Steam in September 2024.Keylockeris a pixel art turn-based JRPG with rhythm action elements, a cyberpunk setting, and “Very Positive” reviews on Valve’s storefront.
Epic Games Store Free Games Right Now
Developed by Czech indie studio Amanita Design,Pilgrimsis an adventure game that was originally released for PC and Apple Arcade in October 2019. It’s designed as a point-and-click experience that has players assume control of an adventurer trying to catch a bird in exchange for a boat ride. This simple premise soon unfolds into anon-linear adventurewith plenty of memorable moments, a lot of heart, and significant replay value.
The choice-driven gameplay resonated with fans, as underlined byPilgrims' “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews on Steam, based on over 4,500 user impressions. Apart from writing and non-linear story progression, players also praised the game’s visuals, characterized by hand-drawn art, cartoonishly exaggerated characters, and a muted, earthy color palette.Pilgrimsis regularly priced at $6.99 on the Epic Games Store, whereasKeylockerwill retail for $19.99 outside its giveaway period.
While waiting forPilgrimsandKeylocker, Epic Games Store users can claim two other freebies, including the aforementionedLegion TD 2, which is a strategy game that can be experienced solo but has risen to prominence thanks to its infinitely replayable multiplayer for up to eight people. TheEpic Games Store is also giving awayDoodle Mafia: Epic Alchemy, a mobile puzzler with a cop-vs-criminal theme, beginning today. BothLegion TD 2andDoodle Mafiaare available until July 31, with their giveaways being scheduled to end at 8am PT / 11am ET / 5pm CET. Neither was ever before free for Epic Games Store users. Next week’s mobile freebie that will accompanyPilgrimsandKeylockerhas yet to be officially announced, though there’s a chance it leaks in advance, as was just recently the case withDoodle Mafia.
