And now, the 2012 cult classic is getting a remaster.

Features Changed From Lollipop Chainsaw’s Original Release
Based on the list of features Dragami is changing or tweaking from the game’s original iteration, it’s clear that the developer wantsLollipop Chainsaw RePOPto be as user-friendly and accessible as possible. Improved camera and button input responses will makeLollipop Chainsaw RePOP’s moment-to-moment gameplay feel more fluid, while settingQuick-Time Eventsto automatic by default will undoubtedly help the game to feel a bit more modern.
It’s also great to see Dragami tweak the balancing ofthe Zombie Baseball minigame, an infamously difficult element in its original iteration. The extra quality-of-life tweaks such as increasing the ammo for the Chainsaw Blaster and improving the Nick Roulette abilities are also sure to be subtle but worthwhile changes that long-time fans of the game will notice.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOPwill retail for $44.99, which might be considered a bit steep for a remaster.
New Features Added in Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP
While quality-of-life changes are great to see, it’sLollipop Chainsaw RePOP’s new featuresthat are going to draw fans back in. As should be expected from any remaster,Lollipop Chainsaw RePOPwill feature updated visuals and resolutions on all platforms, along with higher frame rates on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
Two new modes are coming withLollipop Chainsaw RePOP. The first of these is the titular RePOP Mode, which adds a colorful new pop art-inspired look to the game, specifically affecting the game’s damage effects. The second mode is Real Time Attack, which challenges players to beat the game’s six stages as fast as possible. Their time will then be recorded on a world leaderboard.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOPwill also come with a slew of new collectibles. These include four additional chainsaws, each of which applies a special trait toprotagonist Juliet, such as increasing Gold Medal availability, or forcing zombies to target the player and not survivors. Some new costumes and hair colors will be added with the remaster. The originalLollipop Chainsaw’s licensed soundtrack will be replaced in the remaster by an all-new soundtrack filled with original songs.
