In roughly 10 months, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S gamers will finally be able to play the highly anticipatedGrand Theft Auto 6. The eighth mainline entry in the nearly 28-year-oldGrand Theft Autofranchise,Grand Theft Auto 6, will have players experience the hustle and bustle of the extravagant, crime-filled Vice City within the Florida-inspired state of Leonida. Here, players will be able to play as the dual protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, who get themselves caught up in Leonida’s criminal underworld. WithGrand Theft Auto VIbeing an open-world, action-adventure game, players are bound to meet dozens of NPCs during Duval and Caminos’ journey, but only a handful are currently known so far.
GTA 6’s Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos Explained
In December 2023, in celebration of Rockstar Games’ 25th anniversary, the American video game developer and publisher released the first trailer forGrand Theft Auto 6, about 10 years afterGrand Theft Auto 5launched in 2013. Here, fans got to meet Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos for the first time as Lucia is released from Leonida Penitentiary after ending up there due to “bad luck.” Lucia is later shown participating in and fleeing a robbery with Jason and shown talking to him about how they have to work as a team and trust one another. A year and a half later, Rockstar released another trailer forGTA 6detailing more of the game’s single-player campaign and the dual protagonists.
The second trailer forGrand Theft Auto 6shows Jason fixing leaks in his house before driving through Vice City to pick up Lucia from the Leonida Penitentiary. From here, the rest of the trailer displaysJason Duval and Lucia Caminosrekindling their relationship and taking part in more crimes, such as blowing up police cruisers and shooting a police helicopter from a boat.
BothGTA 6trailers are fairly short, but more details on its characters are revealed onGTA 6’s official website. The website describes Lucia as originating fromGrand Theft Auto 4’s Liberty City, where she was taught to fight for family by her father. Meanwhile, Jason is described as having served in the U.S. Army before working for local drug runners.
GTA 6’s Confirmed Side Characters
Cal Hampton
Cal Hampton appears briefly inGTA 6’s second trailer, going out drinking with Jason and Lucia and asking if she has any friends she could hook him up with. OnGTA 6’s official website, Hampton is described as Jason’s close friend who also works for the protagonist’s criminal landlord, Brian Heder. Somewhat paranoid and a bit of an internet conspiracy nut, Hampton is content with living a fairly normal suburban life, listening in on Leonida’s Coast Guard communications as opposed to Jason and Lucia’s dreams of grandeur. While Hampton has so far not been shown to be involved in any criminal activities, his association with Heder could have him be minimally involved in the landlord’s secret drug runs.
Boobie Ike
Boobie Ike is only shown briefly inGTA 6’s second trailer, seemingly confronting Jason for possibly having connections to the police. While Ike himself isn’t shown off much in either trailer, his strip club, the Jack of Hearts, has more time in the spotlight in both trailers, with both trailers showing some Leonidan enjoying themselves at the establishment. On top of the Jack of Hearts, Ike also ownsGTA 6’s recording studio Only Raw Records. Here, Ike has partnered with the young aspiring music mogul Dre’Quan Priest to make a breakout hit. However, both the Jack of Hearts and Only Raw Records are secretly funded by Ike’s criminal drug dealings.
Dre’Quan Priest
As mentioned before, Dre’Quan Priest is a young man aspiring to make it big on the music scene through Ike’s Only Raw Records. Despite only being 28 years old and having previously survived by dealing on the streets, Priest has already become the CEO and record label manager of Only Raw Records, but he has his sights on expanding beyond Ike’s territory into the greater Vice City area. Recently, Priest signed a deal with the popular rap duo Real Dimez, featuring Bae-Luxe and Roxy. Priest can be briefly seen inGTA 6’s second trailer with Jason reacting to something on his smartphone, suggesting the two could be friends or become friends over the course ofGTA 6’s campaign.
Bae-Luxe and Roxy
Aside from Jason and Lucia, the rap duo Real Dimez, featuring Bae-Luxe and Roxy, are some of the few characters to initially debut inGTA 6’s first trailer, with the duo singing and dancing live on social media and a fan calling their song “the best song right now.” Bae-Luxe only shows up in one brief scene inGTA 6’s second trailer. On theGTA 6website, the duo is described as having been friends since high school and, together, made several viral videos and spicy rap tracks. Early on in their career, Real Dimez made a hit single with local rapper DWNPLY, but the duo has since fallen on hard times and is striving to reach stardom five years later with Only Raw Records and Priest.
Brian Heder
Brian Heder is Jason’s landlordin the Leonida Keys and the employer of both Jason himself and Hampton. Heder appears prominently at the beginning ofGTA 6’s second trailer, asking Jason to shakedown other tenants and nearby businesses for letting him live rent-free. In his youth, Heder was a successful drug runner, but today, Heder hires others to run drugs for him and his third wife, Lori, out of his nearby boatyard, which, from the outside, is the base for Brian’s Boat Works & Marina repair and storage business. Housed in the boatyard is Heder’s seaplane, which used to be his vehicle of choice in his drug-running days.
Raul Bautista
Raul Bautista is one ofGrand Theft Auto 6’s most mysterious characters, as he is not explicitly shown in eitherGTA 6trailer. According to the official website,GTA 6’s Raul Bautistais a seasoned, successful bank robber who is looking for new talent to aid him in his next heist. In one screenshot of Bautista, it seems that Lucia is shown helping him in a heist, suggesting that Bautista will recruit both her and Jason at some point inGTA 6’s campaign. With what little is known about Bautista, it’s uncertain if Bautista will be a powerful ally to Jason and Lucia or become a dangerous rival to the duo.
