On August 1,Final Fantasy 14revealed the preliminary update notes for Patch 7.3, titled The Promise of Tomorrow, which goes live on August 5. TheFinal Fantasy 14preliminary notes stated that the main story climax of theDawntrailexpansion will span 10 quests, along with several cosmetic updates for players to peruse starting next week.
Final Fantasy 14’s 7.3 update will be the conclusion of theDawntrailexpansion story, and should give players a clue into what lies ahead in later updates. Duringthe 88th Letter From the Producer LIVE broadcast,Final Fantasy 14producer and director Naoki Yoshida stated that Patch 7.3’s key features would be split up across multiple updates, with the first one offering the largest chunk. The August 5 content update will also add the second alliance raid in the Echoes of Vana’diel series, titled San d’Oria: The Second Walk, a new Crystalline Conflict PvP map, and the Vault Oneiron treasure dungeon.
While details about the main story of Patch 7.3 remain hidden as of this writing,Final Fantasy 14gave players a sizable look at what to expect on August 5.According to the Lodestone, the main story of 7.3 will begin in Solution Nine, starting with the quest “Targeted Tragedy,” and going on for nine additional quests. Players looking to jump into the San d’Oria alliance raid will want to speak to a Landsguard Messenger in Tuliyollal for the quest “Dreams of Paradise” after clearing Jeuno: The First Walk.
Additional items like hairstyles and cosmetic glamour pieces will be available through various methods in Patch 7.3, including the Manderville Gold Saucer and the new Vault Oneiron treasure dungeon.Numerous compatible headgear items for Viera and Hrothgarplayer characters will finally be available in the 7.3 update.
Several weapons and armor pieces will receive updated textures inFinal Fantasy 14’s 7.3 update, including weapons from theStormbloodandEndwalkerexpansions. Player character models will also receive some changes as part ofDawntrail’s ongoing graphical upgrades, including a free Fantasia potion that will be distributed in Old Gridania. Players who have notclaimed the free Fantasia from Patch 7.2have until server maintenance begins on Monday, August 4, at 9:00 PM Eastern, to do so. The free Fantasia offers in Patches 7.2 and 7.3 can be stacked, allowing players to stock up.
Final Fantasy 14players looking for Job balance updatesmust wait a little longer, as those will be revealed in the complete patch notes on August 4 during server maintenance. Only time will tell what players' receptions to Patch 7.3 will be.

Quests
New main scenario quests have been added.
Chronicles of a New Era (Echoes of Vana’diel) quests have been added.
Tutorials have been added to quests with certain objectives.
A Phoenix Down reward has been added to the main scenario quest “Call of the Sea.”

FATEs
New items are available in exchange for bicolor gemstones from the Gemstone Trader NPC Kajeel Ja in Tuliyollal.

After completing the sidequest “Every Little Thing She Does Is Mahjong” and the main scenario quest “Heavensward,” speak with Dibourdier in the Gold Saucer (X:7.1 Y:7.8) to exchange MGP for items that will unlock a designated character’s voice. The voices added in Patch 7.3 will become available by progressing through the main story.
The layout of the Mahjong tab of the Gold Saucer menu has been adjusted.
A Realm Reborn

The following additions and adjustments have been made to Wondrous Tails:
A new Faux Hallows trail is now available: The Wreath of Snakes (Unreal)
A Maximize Length button has been added to the Granaries window in Island Sanctuary, setting the maximum number of days for two exploration areas.
New hairstyle options have been added for Viera and Hrothgar.
Bangs will now be displayed when wearing headgear such as hoods, which previously hid them.
A large number of headgear items will now display when worn by Viera and Hrothgar.
Certain headgear items now allow Viera to toggle the display of their ears.
When using clarinet performance actions, the delay between pressing keys and music playing has been reduced.
New emotes have been added.
Several emotes can now be used while sitting on the ground, and some emote animations have been adjusted while sitting on the ground.
Battle System
Descriptions of certain actions and status effects have been adjusted.
The following additions and adjustments have been made to Phoenix Down:
A progress bar can now be displayed under the nameplate of certain enemies.
A new main story dungeon (The Meso Terminal) and trial (???) have been added.
The drop rate for Wings of Eternity in the Minstrel’s Ballad: Sphene’s Burden has been increased. They can also be purchased in exchange for 99 totems from Uah’shepya in Solution Nine (X:8.7 Y:13.5).
The weekly restriction on rewards in the Arcadion: Cruiserweight Division has been removed. This change does not apply to the Cruiser Holosaber obtained in AAC Cruiserweight M4.
The number of Cruiser Holosabers required to exchange for a Universal Tomestone 2.0 has been reduced from 7 to 4.
Players will no longer be rewarded Cracked Novaclusters upon completing Jeuno: The First Walk.
Several adjustments have been made to the Occult Crescent: South Horn per player feedback.
In preparation for the introduction of Pilgrim’s Traverse in Patch 7.35, the spawn locations of rank S and rank A elite marks in Il Mheg have been adjusted.
The items required to enhance equipment purchased with Allagan tomestones of mathematics, Evercharged Twine and Evercharged Ester, can be purchased from Ryubool Ja in Tuliyollal for Sacks of Nuts, and from Uah’shepyua in Solution Nine for Ordelle Coins and Montiont Coins.
Players can no longer join duties in progress if they have never cleared one or more of the duties they’ve registered for.
Players will now receive the power of the Echo in the event all party members are incapacitated during Recollection and Recollection (Extreme).
The strength of the Echo granted in AAC Light-heavyweight Tier (Savage) has been increased.
The duties listed within Duty Roulette: Expert have been changed. The required average item level to register for Duty Roulette: Expert has been increased from 705 to 720.

PVP
New items are available in exchange for Trophy Crystals. A number of previous PvP Series rewards have been made available for exchange.

A new Crystalline Conflict arena, the Bayside Battleground, has been added.
With the addition of the Bayside Battleground, the following adjustments have been made to the arena rotation for casual/ranked matches.
A timer for the spawn of medicine kits has been added. The time until a medicine kit can be claimed after spawning has been reduced.
Players under the effect of Hysteria or Seduced can no longer utilize the arena events:
Players can now register to join casual matches with a party of two players.
Two new tiers, Omega and Ultima, have been added to ranked matches. Players who reach Omega or Ultima tiers by the end of the season will receive a framer’s kit and an achievement.
Season Fifteen will end and Season Sixteen will begin.
New items and recipes have been added.
New mounts, minions, and chocobo barding have been added.
New facewear and fashion accessories have been added.

Certain items can now be sold, desynthesized, or submitted for expert delivery missions.

The confirmation prompt displayed when dispelling glamours now also indicates that dyes and company crests will be removed.
When using a gamepad in the Glamour Dresser window, canceling from the Glamour Creation window will now return the cursor to the Glamour Dresser window.
A button to filter by your current class or job has been added next to the dropdown filter of shop windows.
Some additions and adjustments have been made to Dreamfitting with set gear.
Supplementary text explaining search results is now displayed at the bottom of the Item Search List window.

Crafted item level 740 equipment can now be exchanged for upgraded item level 750 equipment.
The level cap for desynthesis has been increased from 740 to 750.
Several additions and adjustments have been made to Cosmic Exploration after player feedback.
Graphical adjustments have been made to player character models based on feedback from the community.
In conjunction with these adjustments, players can obtain a phial of Fantasia from the wandering moogle in Old Gridania (X:10.7 Y:6.4) for a limited period of time.
- This reward will be obtainable until the release of Patch 7.4.
Graphical details for several pieces of gear have been improved.
Chat bubbles have been implemented, allowing messages to be displayed above characters' heads.
Display range for players and monsters has been increased.
to prevent server congestion, we will be implementing multiple field instances for Shaaloani, Heritage Found, Living Memory, and Lower Jeuno. The division of Tuliyollal and Yak T’el into multiple instances, added to alleviate congestion in Patch 7.25, will be removed.
New achievements and titles have been added. Certain duties and trials will now count toward the completion of achievements. Following the release of Patch 7.3, Hells' Kier (Unreal) will no longer be counted.
New retainer exploration ventures have been added. New items can now be obtained from quick exploration ventures.
New portrait accents have been added.
Several options have been added to Group Pose.
Jog will now be removed when participating in The Slice Is Right and Crystalline Conflict
Jog will now be removed upon gaining the Transporting status effect.
When inside a deep dungeon, Jog will now be removed when afflicted with the Sprint Penalty status effect.
A Glamours button has been added to the window displayed when examining player equipment.
