Summary

No otherOne Piececharacter is as stylish as“Cyborg” Franky, the bombastic shipwright of the Straw Hat Pirates. Even though he was a relatively late addition to the crew, he has already worn many different outfits, sometimes more than one per arc, and they all reflected his unique sense of fashion to a tee.

Franky not only wears a speedo everywhere he goes - which is hilarious - but he also changes his hairstyle with frequency, two key elements that make him stand out from other characters in the series. As a result, this cyborg shipwright ended up wearing some of the best outfits in all ofOne Piece, and the following eight are the best ones in his entire collection.

Franky displays his carpenter skills in Wano.

8Wano Carpenter Costume

The Only Time In Which He Actually Looked Like A Shipwright

Due to his extravagant appearance and eccentric personality, sometimes it’s easy to forget that Franky is the shipwright of the Straw Hat Pirates, especially because his outfit very rarely fits his job description. However, the early moments of theWano Country Arcwere a significant exception to this rule.

Franky was part of the group that arrived early in Wano, so he worked as a normal carpenter to lie low on enemy territory. So, he had to wear a blue yukata coat that was both stylish and functional, since it finally made Franky look like a traditional shipwright/carpenter more than any of his other attires ever did. However, the hammer-shaped hairstyle is what ties everything together, and helps cement this outfit as one of his most memorable so far.

7Strong World Outfit

He Looks Like A Hard-Boiled Biker

While Franky obviously had an impeccable sense of fashion before the time skip, it certainly lacked variety, since he mostly wore similar shirts with slightly different colors and patterns. However, the non-canon movieOne Piece Film: Strong Worldfeatured one of his most distinctive attiresfrom this particular era.

During the first half of the film, Franky wears an incredible black leather coat that goes perfectly with the gold chains he always has on his neck. On top of that, he also changed into a different speedo, since he had a red one with yellow stars that fit his usual motif. He truly looks like a seasoned biker, which may have been intentional, since he builds (and rides) a motorcycle out of a giant crayfish later in the movie.

Franky is content with his new outfit in the Egghead Arc.

He Is Right At Home In The Future Island

Lead by a character Franky greatly admires, Doctor Vegapunk,Eggheadis known as the Future Island, and it’s filled to the brim with mind-blowing inventions and cutting-edge technology. So, of course, not only did he feel right at home in this special location, but he also wore appropriate clothes for this important occasion.

Of course, a brilliant cyborg inventor like Franky would fit in Egghead by default, but his new outfit definitely helped as well: the futuristic visor is awesome, the hair styled in the shape of a wind-up toy is really amusing, and his suit is made up of two colors that always complement each other: orange and purple. Curiously enough, this is Franky’s only canon outfit that has pants instead of his iconic speedo, which certainly makes it more distinctive, even if some fans may see this change as sacrilege.

5Uta World Outfit

The Punk Aesthetic Fits Him Surprisingly Well

Like all of his other crewmates, Franky changed into a Punk-themed outfit at the end ofOne Piece Film: Red, when they all had to join forces and defeat Tot Musica insidethe alternate world created by the Uta Uta no Mi, known asUta World. All of them look quite intimidating and fashionable, but Franky is on a whole different level when compared to his peers.

One of the biggest strengths of Franky’s character design is how surprisingly versatile he can be, since he constantly changes styles and each one of them fits him with no problems. This outfit is one of the best examples of this occurrence, since these clothes based on Punk culture look great on him, including the big black coat, the spikes all over his robotic body, and the classic Mohawk, which is a really clever detail.

4Raid On Onigashima Outfit

The Perfect Occasion To Wear Samurai Armor

Most of the Straw Hat Pirates wore traditional combat gear during the climacticRaid on Onigashimathat takes place in Act 3 of the Wano Country Arc, and Franky’s outfit is one of the biggest standouts of this huge event. For starters, he changed the colors and patterns of his robotic parts, and the striped red, white, and black limbs looked absolutely perfect on him.

But he also went out of his way to wear traditional samurai armor, complete with a kabuto helmet with a crescent moon on the top and a yellow nio-dasuki rope on his waist. Not to mention that he even has a useful pair of cannons on his shoulders. Ever since he built the Franky Shogun, it has been evident that Franky has always felt respect and admiration for classic samurai culture, and the Raid on Onigashima was the perfect occasion to finally dress up like one of these seasoned warriors.

3Original Outfit

It’s Part Of What Made Franky Such A Memorable Character In The First Place

Franky has worn multiple outfits throughout the series, and while they all look good on him, there are very few that look better than hisoriginal outfitfrom the Water 7 Arc and the Enies Lobby Arc. The combination of a dark blue speedo and a bright red Hawaiian shirt shouldn’t really work so well, but it does, and it immediately tells the audience how quirky Franky truly is.

But that’s not all, because he also wears chains around his neck that amp up his intimidation factor (which makes sense, since he was the leader of the Franky Family gang) and wears his blue hair in a fashionable pompadour. All of these elements made Franky stand out during his introductory arc and cemented him as one of the most fascinating characters in all ofOne Piece.

A Much-Needed Return To Form For This Eccentric Cyborg

This is one of the most recent sets of clothes that Franky has worn in the manga, but it has already caught the attention of fans, who claim it’s one of his best outfits so far. After the crew’s escape from Egghead and on their way to Elbaf, the shipwright began wearing this refreshing combination of a leather coat and a cowboy hat that look absolutely incredible on him.

Fans have complained about Franky’s new over-the-top post-time skip design for years, mainly due to the bulky metal spheres he has on his shoulders. But this new outfit somehow makes them look smaller and, as a result, makes Franky look less like a machine and more like a respectable pirate. As a fun little nod, he even began wearing chains around his neck, which he hadn’t done since the beginning of the time skip, and they definitely complemented his new look.

1Dressrosa Disguise And Battle Outfit

Goofy In One Moment, Absolutely Terrifying In The Next

As previously mentioned, Franky’s unique character design is surprisingly versatile, which allows him to change appearances depending on the situation, and this versatility was on full display during the monumentalDressrosa Arc.At the beginning of the arc, Franky wore a white shirt, a black jacket, and a bowler hat in combination with his iconic red speedo and a goofy-looking braided hairstyle. This was supposed to help him infiltrate the island but, if anything, it made him stand out due to how ridiculous he looked.

However, when the big battle in Dressrosa finally began, Franky didn’t hesitate to modify his outfit in order to look and feel like the experienced fighter he actually is, and he successfully did this without even changing clothes. He opened his jacket and turned his hair into a cannon, which made him look quite intimidating, even if he still looked a tad comical. However, the final thing that cemented his Dressrosa Outfit as his absolute best was his damaged red eye, which reminded viewers that Franky is a powerful and dangerous cyborg pirate. At the end of the day, this is the attire that he wore during his legendary encounter with Senor Pink, so it’s undoubtedly going to be stuck in the collective memory of the fanbase for many years to come.
