Summary
WithGenshin Impact’s version 5.0 drawing near, leaks regarding the upcoming update have recently surfaced online. Some of these leaks are aboutGenshin Impact’s Mualani, a brand-new Hydro user who will arrive in the first phase of version 5.0. As it turned out, the character’s skill set will see several changes before she gets her debut banner.
Based on leaks,Mualani will receive both nerfs and buffs, which leads many players to think positively about the upcoming unit. Some of her skills will reportedly be worse than expected, but HoYoverse will boost the character’s stats to make her a viable choice. Players should wait a little longer to see Mualani’s new kit and decide if she is worth pulling.
Who is Genshin Impact’s Mualani?
A couple of weeks ago,Genshin Impactintroduced players to Mualani via a drip marketing campaign, confirming her as a Hydro user. The upcoming character is from Natlan, a new region that will be added to the game in version 5.0 later this month. As per the leaked banner schedule, Mualani will be the first Natlan unit to debut in the game. She will reportedly arrive at the same time as the five-star rerun character Black Swan.
Mualani is a young girl whose job is to guide the people of Natlan and show them around the natural beauties nearby. She is a member of an indigenous community, the People of the Springs, which is derived from Aztec mythology. Based on leaks, players will find this local tribe in the south ofGenshin Impact’s Natlan region.
Genshin Impact’s Mualani Will Reportedly Receive Major Changes
According to leaks,Genshin Impactwill make several changes to Mualani’s skill setbefore she gets her banner in version 5.0. The cooldown of her normal attacks in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state will reportedly be increased from 1.6 to 1.8. The character’s elemental burst will deal damage equal to 105% (increased from 89%) of her max health, which is a buff for the Natlan unit. If Mualani wants to dash and jump with her surfboard, she must spend 24 Nightsoul points instead of 12.
When Sharky’s Surging Bite (a special attack used in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state) hits the target, Mualani will generate Puffers instead of Floaters. These Puffers will allegedly give 20 Nightsoul Points instead of 35, meaning players will probably have to use dash and jump abilities less often.
Some early leaks indicate that Mualani’s Eidolons will also see balance changes. The Leisurely “Meztli” Eidolon will boost the overall damage of the first Sharky’s Surging Bite by %66 of the character’s maximum health. That means Mualani’s first special attack, which she performs in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, will scale off HP. The Sharky Eats Puffies, on the other hand, will regenerate eight energy (decreased from 15) when collecting Puffers.
Mualani’s Skill Set Explained
Mualani is a five-star character who uses Hydro as her element. She performs charged and plunging attacks to deal AoE damage. The Natlan unit uses her colorful toy to surf any time she wants. Furthermore, Mualani fires a missile that tracks the opponent and dishes out AoE damage based on her max HP.Genshin Impactplayers will spend Sprayfeather Gill, Varunada Lazurite Sliver, Mark of the Binding Blessing, and Sentry’s Wooden Whistle materials to ascend the character.
Upon using her elemental skill, Mualani enters the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, and her normal attacks are converted into Sharky’s Bite. During that state, she mounts a shark skate and gains a movement speed boost. When Mualani consumes all her Nightsoul Points, the Nighsoul Blessing state immediately ends.
Mualani will become playable inGenshin Impact’s version 5.0, which is set for a release on August 28. Her debut banner will likely feature several rerun characters. According to leaks, Mualani’s weapon of choice would be the catalyst. More details about the upcoming Natlan unit will be revealed on August 16.
