Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery Giving Away Special House Robes
Its latest such release rolled out on August 14 in the form of update 6.0.1. Among other things, this patch gives players a limited-time opportunity to grab some house robes inspired byHarry Potter and the Cursed Child. All that’s required to do so is to log into the game after updating it, which should see the player greeted with a “Back to Hogwarts” gift prompt. Jam City did not clarify how long these freeHogwarts Mysterycosmeticswill be available to claim.
The robes themselves aren’t a new addition to the game, as they have already been given away on several occasions. That notwithstanding,Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mysteryplayerswho unlocked them in the past won’t be left empty-handed here, but will instead be given an “alternate reward,” the developer said, without elaborating on the matter. Historically speaking, Jam City’s freebie alternatives most commonly consisted of extra currency, consumables, or both.
These limited-time freebies are meant to promote the Broadway edition ofHarry Potter and the Cursed Child, which has been playing at the Lyric Theater over a two-year period ending in March 2020, then returned in November of the following year. While the original version of the play was performed in two parts, this current rendition is a single 3.5-hour showing. The play itself has had mixed reviews ever since its premiere; although its dialogue and actor performances were mostly praised, some critics have characterized the overarching story as being akin to fan fiction, not least because it occasionally plays fast and loose with theWizarding Worldlore.
