Time is of the essence inHelldivers 2. Ultimately, a failed Major Order isn’t the end of the world, nor is it the end of the Galactic War. That said, as with everything that is made exhilarating and cinematic inHelldivers 2, the final day or hours of an MO can become increasingly anxiety-inducing depending on how precarious players’ success or failure is, and the game’s current MO is at a dramatic tipping point with less than nine hours to secure both Gaellivare and Claorell. Upon Gaellivare being officially held earlier today, the Democracy Space Station was promptly sent to Claorell—better late than never.

The DSS hung above Gaellivare until it was recently successfully liberated. Meanwhile, Claorell has been in dire need of attention as it was resting at an abysmal 0.00654% liberated at the time. Helldivers should never be counted out when it comes to how dedicated and stalwart they are, yet this MO seems confidently lost. If somehow players do manage to beat the Automatons,Helldivers 2’s Incineration Corps sub-faction, and meteor shower and extreme cold environmental conditions—let alone the clock—the DSS will prove to be a godsend in this brutal race to the finish line.

Helldivers 2’s DSS is Arriving on Claorell with Little to No Time to Spare

Player counts and percentage numbers will inevitably fluctuate rapidly. But, when Gaellivare was completed and the DSS swapped to Claorell, 58,431 Helldivers were active with 20,049 of them on Claorell, meaning more than half of the playerbase was choosing not to engage inHelldivers 2’s Major Order. This could be for a number of reasons, chiefly either that they foresee a futile battle ahead or that they prefer the Illuminate or Terminid factions over Automatons.

Thankfully, whether or not more players did decide to aid liberation efforts on Claorell, the DSS has been swapped to Claorell and will provide as much moral support as it possibly can for as long as players keep it there, or, ideally, until the MO’s duration expires.

The DSS is paramount in winning this or any MO due to the Operational Support it grants on the planet it’s suspended over. This support includes:

So, while the DSS alone won’t win this MO and players will need to commit themselves greatly to reach 100% in the next eight-and-a-half hours, the DSS should provide an optimistic boost toward Claorell’s liberation efforts. Two hours before the DSS was originally going to transition to players’ elected planet,Helldivers 2’s DSS votehad Claorell winning at 92%, whereas Gaellivare was understandably losing with only 5%. This was perfectly logical because Gaellivare was mere missions away from being liberated, at which time players eager to see the MO succeed had begun focusing their efforts wholly on Claorell and knew they must depend on the DSS for any morsel of support it could offer.

If Gaellivare had been liberated sooner, it’d be interesting to know how far alongHelldivers 2’s Claorell’s liberationwould’ve been by now with the DSS positioned overhead. Conversely, had Gaellivare been liberated any later, Claorell’s chances would be even slimmer than they are now.

Claorell currently sits at 0.11509% liberated, and players have an enormous mountain to climb if they don’t want DSS facilities to fall to the bots. However, 62,245 players are now active with 40,546 on Claorell, and thus liberty’s forces are amassing all the same.
