Summary

Jujutsu Kaisenrecently ended and it’s safe to say that the finale didn’t exactly live up to the expectations of many. While the series still leaves an incredible legacy, quite a few fans of the franchise believe that its ending was greatly rushed and many things that happened within the story either had a lackluster payoff or were completely swept under the rug by Gege Akutami, leading to a disappointing finale.

However, there exists a silver lining. The fact that many of the series' biggest questions remain unsolved offers the perfect opportunity for the Gege to make aJujutsu KaisenPart 2. Though any news of a follow-up to the series hasn’t been confirmed yet, fans are already underway with their predictions ofhow this new story will play outand how it will make up for the mysteries that the original series left unanswered, so let’s take a look at howJujutsu Kaisenpart 2 can exceed all expectations.

A New Generation Of Sorcerers

A Whole New Cast of Characters

To most fans of the franchise, the characters often stand out as the best part. This is mostly because of how lovable, relatable, and well-written they often end up being, with much of the anime-watching world consideringYuji to be one of the greatest modern Shonen protagonistsand Gojo easily being one of the most iconic characters in the entire industry.

So, just like its predecessor,Jujutsu KaisenPart 2 would likely have characters just as memorable. However, as loved as the previous generation is, they would likely fill in side character roles in this series, whereas a whole new trio would likely be the central focus. One way that this could work is by having the new main character be yet another member of the Gojo clan who had previously gone unheard of and could be Satoru’s cousin or even a distant relative.

Jujutsu Kaisen Part 2: Why A Sequel Is Possible

Due to being born into the Gojo clan, this new character would have access to Gojo’s overpowered Limitless Cursed Technique and also could have beenborn with the Six Eyesas well. The bestowment of the Six Eyes largely remains a mystery because it can never be anticipated when it will reappear, since Satoru was the first member of the Gojo clan to be born with this ability in over 400 years.

Seeing this new character act as a newer version of Gojo would be a perfect next step for the franchise, especially considering the contrast he would have to the characters fans already know and love. This series would introduce many characters this way, with a new trio being the focal point, similar to how Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara were. Doing this could also show new and powerful abilities that would change the foundations of the world and perhaps even older ones that have manifested into new characters.

The Older Generation Returns

Familiar Faces ofJujutsu Kaisen

Moving on from this, one of the best things to see in this series would be how the previous generation is doing. The timeline of Part 2 could deal with the events of the world around 16 years after the ending ofJujutsu Kaisen, where the new main character (the reincarnation of the Gojo clan’s Limitlessand Six Eyes Techniques) will be around the same age as Yuji was when the original series again. This would put Yuji at 32 years old, making him the ideal age to fill in Gojo’s shoes as the teacher of the next generation.

This would be a beautiful storytelling choice, as it would see Yuji nurture and bring up the strength of someone who is essentially the second coming of Gojo himself, just as Gojo did to Yuji. Moreover, Yuji and Gojo are very similar in terms of personality, since they’re both very childlike and fun-loving people who just so happen to be incredibly powerful characters that fans of the series absolutely adore.

I’m expecting great things from you. Got that, Yuji?

Just like Yuji, Part 2 would show how the rest of the cast ofJujutsu Kaisenis doing. Megumi and Nobara would be the same age as Yuji and, with their increase in age, it would also show them at a level of power that they never had before. One of the biggest aspects that fans complained about with the ending of the original series was thatMegumi essentially ended his arcexactly how he started it and never got any stronger than he could have been.

This came as a massive letdown to fans of the series, since Megumi had been built up as someone whose Cursed Technique had enough potential to match Limitless in terms of strength, but he barely used it close to its maximum potential. However, with Part 2, Megumi could have undergone an incredible power boost and substantial training in those 16 years, which would have finally allowed him to defeat and tame Mahoraga.

While all other characters would make an appearance, Yuji would perhaps be the greatest asset to the Jujutsu world against the forces of rogue Curse Users and Cursed Spirits. While fans got an initial look at his power during his definitive battle against Sukuna, it was still in its infancy, and his Domain Expansion’s unique traitsweren’t even fleshed out. However, after undergoing even more training over almost 2 decades, Yuji would be at the peak of his strength, having mastered all of his Cursed Techniques and Domains, making him the strongest sorcerer of that current age.

By having the characters of the old generation fill in the spaces left by their own predecessors to bring up and nurture the Jujutsu sorcerers of the future, the story would have a beautiful and cyclical way of showing how this world works. Besides, this age bracket serves as a perfect place for all previous characters to show just how powerful their abilities would be at their prime, so Maki’s Heavenly Restriction, Todo’s Boogie Woogie, Yuta’s Copy, and Hakari’s Private Pure Love Train could all be even stronger than they were before.

A New Era Of Villainy

Familiar and New Enemies

Jujutsu Kaisenhad one of the best rogue’s galleries in all of modern anime. So, it’s only natural to expect that if a Part 2 to the story were made, the characters in that would be just as iconic and, perhaps, even more powerful. One such way that it can be manifested is throughthe concept of Cursed Spiritsthemselves, as these are monstrous beings created by the fear and negative emotions regarding certain concepts or things.

The most famous of these from the original series were the Disaster Curses. However, the possibility of Cursed Spirits like these is near endless, as many fears exist in the world whose Cursed Spirits haven’t been shown, so the Curses that use them can be just as powerful as the ones from the original series. Such an example of this could be a Cursed Spirit who is the manifestation of the fear of death, with an overpowered Cursed Technique that simply kills its enemy with a single touch.

To make this technique even more terrifying, the Cursed Spirit could have some gravity-like power that sucks people in towards itself in order to make touching them even easier. This spirit would serve as the perfect antithesis and villain to the previously mentionedprotagonist from the Gojo clan, as their techniques are the exact opposites of one another, with Limitless preventing anyone from touching them by pushing people away and this hypothetical Cursed Technique calling for a touch of the hand by pulling people close.

Moreover,Jujutsu Kaisen’sending showed Takaba seemingly alive and walking around with someone who had the exact same hair as Suguru Geto, telling him about the intricacies of comedy. Most fans believe this to be Kenjaku, who somehow survived the entire ordeal and is alive tocomplete his plan of Tengen’s merger, which would once more make him a huge antagonist to take down, with the giant Cursed Spirit being the final enemy that everyone must work together to defeat.

Regret, huh? I’ve forgotten what that feels like.

Another great idea that could work in this timeline also has to do with the reincarnation of Sukuna. After his defeat, Sukuna is shown at the very end, stating that if he were to be born again, he might live a different life with friends and family to care about rather than being alone as he had been in this one. This would bring Sukuna back in a beautiful way as a brand-new character who is taken in and trained by Yuji to hone his techniques alongside the new Gojo, where they must work together to defeat the final villain at the end.

Jujutsu Kaisencan be streamed onAmazon PrimeandNetflix.
