Ninja Gaiden Rageboundis an action-platformer game whose story runs parallel to the original NES Ninja Gaiden game. While Ryu sets off to America, we follow Kenji Mozu as he sets out to stop the demonic incursion threatening Hayabusa Village. Kenji specializes in melee combat with his Katana, and can make use of the Guillotine Boost to bounce off enemies and most projectiles to extend his jumps. As he seeks out the mastermind behind the invasion, he ends up crossing paths with the game’s second playable character.
Ninja Gaiden Ragebound’s second protagonist is a Black Spider Clan Kunoichi named Kumori, who has set out to meet with the Demon King, armed with a dagger that will allow her to seal his power within herself. When both Kenji and Kumori are left near death by the demon’s traps, Kumori convinces Kenji to use the dagger on her, merging their souls and allowing both of them to escape. With their new power, Kumori can temporarily manifest to throw kunai and unleash Spider Weapons, utilize special structures throughout the stages to enter the demon realm to open new paths and find hidden items, and team up with Kenji to perform powerful Ragebound techniques.
