AsDragon Age: The Veilguardbegins, the Antivan city Treviso is under the occupation of the Antaam, a group of renegade Qunari warriors. Treviso fell unusually fast to the invaders, and the Crows of Antiva are convinced that someone inside the walls is a traitor.
To get proof of this suspicion, the Crows have sent their members across the cityto look for clues and work against the invaders. This includes a pair of scouts, Jacobus and Dareth. However, Crow leadership hasn’t heard back from them in a while. That’s where Rook andThe Veilguardenter the picture.
How to Start A Slow Poison
“A Slow Poison” is available as a regional sidequestas soon as you recruit Lucanis inDragon Age: The Veilguard. Simply head back to Treviso and talk to the Crows leadership to learn what you need to know to get started.
After that, you’ll need to head down to the Drowned District. This is on the south side of Treviso, and you should be able to find your way there if you make “A Slow Poison” your active quest and follow the markers. The starting location is a warehouse by the water. You’ll know the quest is ready to start when you overhear an Antaam arguing with Jacobus.
You’ll have to fight the Antaam to free Jacobus. All the Antaam you encounter during this quest are resistant to electricity and vulnerable to necrotic damage. To take advantage of this, and because doing so gives you several bond increases, make sure you bring Lucanis on this sidequest.
With the Antaam dead, you can open Jacobus' cage. Jacobus then asks you to check his cousin Dareth’s body and complete his last contract. Dareth is on the ground in the warehouse, to the left of the cage.
How to Follow the Crow Marks
This part of the quest is easier than you might think. AlthoughDragon Age: The Veilguardwants you to follow the trail of the purple Crow marks, you may instead follow the quest markerto your next destination. In fact, you can take an alternate route to your destination, and Rook will still know when you’ve found Dareth’s contract.
To proceed, you must search the area for the contract details. These details are on the desk in the southwest corner of the searchable room.
Where to Find the Qamekmaster
Your next quest marker will send you back towards the Crows hideout, and then to a zipline that goes north from the casino. You may have to turn it on if you haven’t already. After crossing, you need to jump across a gap and then open a door that only works while this quest is active. Another zipline will take you to the Antaam garrison, where the Butcher is giving a speech to his troops.
The trip through the garrison is mostly linear, but there are a few corners to check while you’re there.
When you descend a staircaseand see a fast-travel beacon on your right, you’ll know you’ve almost reached the Qamakmaster.
How to Beat the Qamakmaster
The elven gods have thoroughly corrupted the Qamakmaster, turning him into a grotesque monster. Still, he has the same elemental affinities as the other Antaam, and he doesn’t have a huge health bar.
The Qamakmaster is a very simple boss. He aggressively attacks his target (usually Rook), and every now and then he drops a puddle of (necrotic) poison on the ground. This poison sticks around for a few seconds, then disappears. Because the Qamakmaster is so relentless, and because so many of his attacks are unblockable, you’re best off using your alliesand your special abilitiesto take him down. Aside from that, keep dodging.
As soon as the Qamakmaster falls, Rook will want to destroy the qamak jars in the room. Instead of doing that, open the door in the northwest corner. It needs a key, but you got the key the moment the Qamakmaster died. Behind the door is a large chest.
After that, destroy the three indicated jars (preferably with a ranged weapon). Rook then wants to search the room for clues, so check the desk on the west wall. After you read the document there, you can use the south door to teleport back to the Crows hideout.
You’ll see the Crows leader arguing with the governor of Treviso, the supposed ruler of the city. You can say what you like for the first two dialog options, but for the third option pick, “I won’t abandon my allies.” This will give you relationship points with Lucanis if he’s present. The quest ends with this conversation, rewarding you with 250 XPand +250 Crows Strength.
